SASTRA University (also known as Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy) is a deemed university established under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. The institute is located at Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu. The institute was originally founded in 1984 in the form of Shanmugha College of Engineering which has now been rechristened as SHANMUGHA ARTS, SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY & RESEARCH ACADEMY (SASTRA).
SASTRA University’s campus spreads over an area of 1.5 million square feet which houses all academic departments and administrative buildings.
