But how do you do it? Here are 5 tips to help you cut out the distractions and actually benefit from your studying.

1) Find a quiet spot

This is the most crucial part of your studying. If you are trying to study in a loud apartment, or somewhere that you are easily distracted, might as well toss your studies out the window. Take the initiative to leave the house. Find a place where there are not a lot of people.

2) Turn off your cell phone

Your cell phone just might be the most distracting thing that you can have. Make sure that you turn it off when you study. No matter how much will power you have, it is near impossible not to look at your cell phone when you get a text. It may be horrible to do so, but you will appreciate it in the long run. It is only 2 or 3 hours of your time.

3) Study at the best time for you

If you like to study at night, do it. Find the time that is most convenient for you to study. Studying is all about you. If you know that you can’t study in the morning, there is no point to force yourself to do so.

4) Bring snacks

Bring snacks to give yourself a boost. Bring water to hydrate yourself. Snacking can help you concentrate when you are having a hard time doing so.

5) Log off Facebook, Google+

Get off the social network sites. It is so tempting to want to look at people’s profiles when you know that you have to be studying. Do yourself a favor and log out. No one is going to notice that you were gone for 2 hours. Who knows, you might have some new notifications when you log in!
