    Whether negative marks allotted in CAT exam?

    hello everyone
    I just want to know that is there any negative marking in CAT??? I have given my IPCC [CA Inter both groups] exam in this November and about to give CAT and GRE so I want to know about it. I am a 1st yr B.com (hons.) student from Goenka College Of Commerce, Kolkata.

    Yes there will be negative marking.If you response wrong answer then 1/4 of marks for that question will be reduced.Suppose any question is allotted 2 marks and if your answer is wrong then your maks will be reduced by (1/4)*2.Paper will consist following parts-

    English and comprehension

    Logical reasoning

    Data interpretation and reasoning.

    This exam is online exam so you are suggested do do enough practice before exam.

    There is negative marking for the CAT exam.

    CAT is Common Admission Test.

    It is a entrance exam for MBA course.

    If you are able to score good percentile in CAT then you can get admission in IIM.

    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:-

    >>Should have 50% in graduation level.

    >>Graduation in any stream.

    >>No minimum age limit.

    EXAM PATTERN:-

    The exam is held online. You need to practice very hard the reasoning, numerical aptitude,etc.



    The negative marking will be 1/4 for each wrong answer.

    If 4 answers are wrong then 1 marks will be deducted.

    Dear..

    The Eligibility of the cat exam is as follows :-

    1. A candidate must be a graduate
    2. Graduation must be done from a recognized university
    3. 50% marks in case of General or OBC candidate
    4. 45 % marks in case of SC/ST
    5. There is no subject barrier and even Science and Arts graduate candidate can also apply for the course.
    6. Good communication skills

    Yes there is a negative marking in CAT and the marking system is as follows :-

    Per question is of 2 marks
    Per mistake will cost you 0.50 mark

    Yes, there is negative marks if you anmswer any questions incorrectly in the CAT exams.

    CAT exams has questions from the below sections:
    Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation;
    Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning

    30 questions are asked from each section.
    70 minutes is time given to answer each section
    So total 60 questions and 140 minutes to answer

    Eligibilty to apply for the CAT exams is
    Graduation pass in any stream with minimum 50% marks for candidates belonging to General and OBC category
    Minimum 45% marks in case of SC/ST canmdidates

    CAT stands for Common Admission Test which is being conducted by IIMs .

    Eligibility criteria for CAT Exam:-

    1. Candidate should be complete graduation from recognized Universities.
    2. Percentage should be greater than 50% (relaxation for SC/ST Caste)
    3. Final Appearing candidates also applicable.

    CAT Exam Pattern:-

    1. Verbal Ability
    2. Reading Comprehension
    3. Problem Solving
    4. Data Interpretation

    There will be negative marking . For every negative answer 1/4th marks will be deducted from the original score.

    • CAT is the common admission test, which is an national level Mba Entrance test which is conducted by the Indian institute of management (IIM).
    • As per the eligibility criteria, you must have the 50% marks in your graduation degree and for the reserved category the required marks reduces to 45%.
    • It does not have any upper age limit.
    • Yes, there is a provision of negative marking in the CAT.
    • The negative marking would be 1/4 th of total marks of that question.
    • So attend those question in which you are confident.
