- Basically IPS stands for Indian Police Services.To become an IPS Officer you have to appear in UPSC Civil Service Examination.UPSC:- Union Public Service Commission.This Exam is held once in a year generally in the month of May.
- Basic Eligibility criteria for Civil Service Exam:
* You should have completed Bachelor degree course in any discipline from recognized university.
* Candidate appear in final exam of above such program are also eligible to appear in this exam.
* Your Age should be in between 21 to 30 years(for BC 21 to 33years & for Sc/st 21 to 35 years of age as per the certificates)
* You should be the citizen of India.
