    What to study for cracking CAT? It is better to join coaching institute?

    I am a b-tech first year student. What should i study to crack CAT. Is it better to join a coaching institute from now only???

    CAT stands for Common Admission Test
    it is an well known entrance exam for MBA course

    MBA is Masters In Business Administration
    it is of 2 years duration


    for CAT

    you will have to complete your graduation from a recognised board
    you will have to score minimum of 60% in graduation


    no age limit is specified for thsi exam


    also candidates can attempt this exam as many times as they want
    as there is no restriction in no of attempts

    selection process
    selection process of CAT contains 2 stages

    first of course a written exam exam conducted
    candidates who qualifies this exam goes for interview

    CAT exam syllabus contains 4 sections as given below:



    Quantitative Ability (QA)
    Data Interpretation (DI) and Logical Reasoning (LR)

    Eligibilty to apply for the CAT exams is:Graduation pass in any stream with minimum 50% marks for General and OBC candidates and minimum 45% marks for the SC/ST candidates.
    Final year Graduation students can also apply


    You can start preparing for the CAT exams when you are in 6th Semester of your BTECH
    You can take postal coaching of TIME or Career Launcher

    HI,

    CAT Exam Details:-

    1.CAT stands for Common Admission Test. This exam is conducted by the IIMs, one of the premier institution and the most sought after when it comes to pursuing MBA and other management programs.

    2.Since it is conducted by the IIMs therefore no other university accepts CAT score. Apart from the IIMs it is also accepted by several other reputed private autonomous institutions.

    3.If u r interested to give this exam then u need to complete ur graduation first in any discipline of ur choice from a recognized university or institution.

    4.In addition to that u also need to secure minimum 50% of marks at graduation level if u r a general category candidate.

    5.There is percentage relaxation for the reserved category candidates. It is 45% in aggregate for SC and ST candidates.

    6.Final yr students about to sit for their final yr exam r awaiting the result of their final yr exam r also eligible to give this exam.

    7. Selection Procedure includes the following steps:-

    1) Written Examination,

    2) Group Discussion ,

    3) Personal Interview Session.

    8.Conceptual questions will come so mugging and cramming wont help much. The exam is mainly objective type. U need to understand each and every chapter properly and go to the root of it to understand better. Therefore it is always advisable to start preparation much in an advance to give yourself enough time to get accustomed to the whole syllabus.

    9.For every wrong answer u give a certain percentage of marks will be deducted from the original score. The whole paper needs to be completed in two and a half hours' time and be very cautious when answering each of them.

    Hi,

    CAT is one of the most toughest exam to crack.

    It is conducted for admission to MBA programme in top Business schools in India.

    Any candidate with 50% marks in graduation is eligible to apply for CAT exam.

    There are two papers in CAT exam -

    Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation
