    What shall I do to become an IAS Officer?

    I want to becom I.A.S. Officer. I have cleared 12 science and not so fixed but perhaps I am going to take admission in dental. Besides this I want to becom I.A.S Officer.Can you tell me what shell I do for this? Answer this. And give such information about an I.A.S. Officer.

    The Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Examination is conduct by UPSC once every year.
    You have completed your 12th that is good but to sit for examination like IAS ,You need to be Graduate in any discipline.

    You must first complete your 3/4 year bachelor degree in any discipline (in dental or in something else) from recognized university

    in order to apply in entrance examination conduct by UPSC for IAS.

    Eligibility For IAS

    Graduation from recognized university
    Basic fitness level.
    Age limit - 21 to 30 years

    There are 3 stages in IAS that should be cleared by the candidate.

    Preliminary exam (Objective Type Exam)
    Main exam (Descriptive Type Exam)
    Personal Interview

    Clearing one will get you to another level exam.

    Its good that you want to become an IAS officer.
    To become an IAS officer, you have to give the written tests and interview conducted by IBPS

    The name of this exam is called UPSC Civil Services Exams.

    Eligibilty to appear in this exam is Graduation Pass in any stream
    No minimum percentage of marks is required in Graduation

    Age should be between 21 and 30 years
    Obc gets 3 years and SC/ST gets 5 years age relaxations

    So first complete your Graduation and than apply for the UPSC Civil Services Exams

    To be Eligible for IAS you must first apply for that

    And for that you must definitely fulfill the Eligibility criteria

    You must be an Indian Citizen

    The minimum age must be 21 years

    Maximum age is allowed up to 30 years

    You must have a minimum Graduation as a Qualification

    Dear there will be an Age relaxation for the Reserved candidates ..

    Yes you can apply for IAS officer post
    Its a very good decision to take an IAS officer.
    This exam is conducted by UPSC(Union public service commission)
    For this you should have a graduation or degree in any stream either dental or any thing else
    Your age should be between 21-30 years
    If you belong to reserved category then you will have upper age limit of 3 years for OBC, 5 years for Sc/St/Ex-service man

    check regularly for Notifications in given website
    If the notifications are released then you can apply for the exam

    Well, your ambition to become IAS officer is appreciable, this is one of the prestigious post in India and you also need to give more efforts to get selected.

    IAS means Indian Administrative Services, for which written exam is conducted by UPSC.

    The eligibility required to give this exam is any degree from recognized university.

    As you have cleared your 12th, you can give this exam after completion of your dental course.

    You need to join good coaching centre for training, until or unless you join any good coaching center you cannot qualify the written exam.

    So, you should concentrate on it during your graduation course also.

    The minimum age required to give this UPSC Exam is 21 years and maximum is 30 years, however age relaxation for reserved categories apply according to the rules laid down by the government.

    As 3 years for OBC.

    5 years for SC/ST

    10 years for PWD & Ex service-men.

    To become an IAS officer you ahve to appear in the civil services exam conducted by the UPSC.

    eligibility criteria:

    a)AGE: general category:21 to 30 years obc:21 to 33 years sc/st:21 to 35 years.

    A candidate must have attained 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years as on 1 august in the year of examination


    the candidate must hold a degree of any of universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislatures of india or declared to be deemed as university under section 3 of the UGC act 1956.
