Hello,
SGPA is Semester Grade Points Average
CGPA is Cumulative Grade points Average,
i.e. Combining all the Semesters SGPA we will get CGPA.
Example given in previous reply of mine.
Arpita
Dear friend,
CGPA means Cummulative Grade Point Average. CGPA is calculated based on all subjects that u take. each subjects usually comes with a credit value. some less important subjects carry between 1 to 2 credits, more important ones carry 3 to 4, and the core subjects can carry between 5 to 8 credits each. also, there are subjects categorized as "compulsory attendance only" (hadir wajib sahaja) which usually carry 0 credits. these subjects hold no value, but failing it (due to poor attendance or whatever) will still hold u down from graduating successfully.
The meaning of C.G.P.A
My dear friend
Here CGPA is stand for Cumulative Grade points Average,
If a year has two semesters, the average of these two semesters is calculated as the CGPA. Each semester’s mark is calculated as the SGPA.
If you have 8 semesters, your total CGPA will be sum of SGPA’s of all semesters divided by 8.
Convert CGPA to percentage :-
>.For students under the 4-point credit system, the procedure is CGPA*18+20=Equivalent percentage
Eg: If CGPA is 3.00, then the equivalent percentage = 3.00*18+30=74%
>.For students under the 10-point grading system, the procedure is CGPA*9.3=Equivalent percentage
Eg: If CGPA is 9.00, then the equivalent percentage = 9.00*9.3=83.
All the best.
if i get 90% in 3 subjects,then what will be mine grade(A1 or A2)
plz, i'm so confused give me the correct answer.
CGPA is Cumulative Grade points Average
And you can calculate your percentage by multiplying 9.5 x C.G.P.A = ....%
For example :
Your C.G.P.A is 8.2 then your percentage will be 8.2 x 9.5 = 77.9 %
So, you can check your percentage in this way.
Note: This percentage is approximate to your original score.
CGPA = Cumulative grade points average,
The CGPA is used to describe overall performance in all courses in letter grades which a student has obtained. it is a weighted average of grade points obtained by him/her in all the semesters/years.
Formulae = CGP secured in all passed courses / cumulative Units associated.
SGPA = Semester Grade points average --- It is the semester performance of the student.
For Example: 5 subjects of 3 credits each and you have scored 90 plus marks in each then you will be given 10 grade points for all subject and your SGPA would be
{3 X 10 x 5} / (5 x 3) = 10 SGPA
but if you have scored different grade points.. the general formulae would be -
total of (Credits associated with each subject x Grade point obtained out of 10) / total associated credit units
Same way if you combined all the semesters then you will get CGPA

SGPAisSemester Grade Points Average
CGPAisCumulative Grade points Average,
Combining all the Semesters SGPA you will get your CGPA.
here is how we calculate the c.g.p.a:
1.Grade Points Obtain x Credit Hours = Result.
2.Calculate Each course result.
3.Take a Sum of Result of Each Subject.
4.Divide the Sum of Result with Total Credit Hours of Semester.
5.round of the result to the nearest hundredth value.
How to calculate the CGPA from percentage or total marks foe each SEMESTER?
Suppose I got 80% in first semester what is my CGPA for that semester?
Wil anyone not get more than 95% in tenth exam?
I got total GPA 9.3 in 10th 2012 it will consider A1 grade or A2 grade.
Hai Friend..,
-->>>> CGPA means Cumulative Grade Point Average. ...,
>> It is an overall indicative percentage of marks.
-->> How to Calculate Percentage from CGPA ?
The average grade earned by a student, figured by dividing the grade points earned by the number of credits attempted.
Multiply the CGPA with 9.5 or use the above calculator to get the indicative percentage.
-->> Why Multiple with 9.5 only?
The Board took the result of the last five years and calculated the average marks of all candidates who had scored between 91 and 100.
That average turned out to be close to 95 marks. Since the equivalent Grade Point for the 91-100 band (A1 grade) of marks is 10, it then divided the average result of 95 by 10. The result is 9.5.

Dear,
Here are some informations which can help you.
Cumulative Grade Point Average(CGPA):
The mean GPA from all semester.
Grade Point Average(GPA):
The numerical value assigned to a student scholastic average in one semester.
The calculation is shown below:
- The over all GPA calculation formula:
- Grade points obtain x credit hours=Result.
- Calculate each course result.
- Take a sum of result of each subject.
- Divide the sum of result with total credit hours of semester.
All the best.......................
dear friend,
CGPA stands for Cumulative Grade points Average
The CGPA is the average of grade points obtaind in all subjects excluding additional subjects as per Scheme of studies.
Calculation of CGPA is given below:
grade point of each subject x9.5 =Subject wise indicative percentage of marks
CGPA x 9.5 =overall indicative percentage of marks
Dear Friend,
Our institutions evaluate scores as percentage basis. How can we transform it into C.G.P.A.?
For example,
Math= 60 out of 100
English= 80 out of 100
Economics=90 out of 100
Geography=70 out of 100
Now how can I calculate this marks into C.G.P.A.?
MY FRIENDS....
You want to know how calculate the total C.G.PA...
By (CGPA * 9.5) you get the total no of overall percentage...
- The over all GPA calculation formula:
- Grade points obtain x credit points=Result.
- Calculate each course in result.
- Take their sum of result of each subject.
- Divide the sum of result with total credit hours of semester.

CGPA - Cumulative Grade Point Average.
CGPA Calculator value obtained by the students in all the subjects.
CGPA = Sum of All SGPA/No.Of Semester
SGPA for a semester can be calculated by multiplying the acquired grade point with The Credit of the subject and summing up this product for all the subject, then divide whole sum by total credits of the subjects
for each subject that u've successfully taken, a grade will be issued after the final exam. these grades each carry a specific point value.
typically, A carries 4.00, B carries 3.00 and C carries 2.00.
each of these points will be calculated based on the credit rating of each subject, and later summed up to give you your GPA for that particular semester.
good luck...........
hai friend

any idea about various cgpa and their corresponding classification in provisional certificate
Dear friend,
let us discuss about CGPA And also SGPA.CGPA means cumulative grade point average point and SGPA means semester grade point average. In our carrier we have to complete B.Tech with nice cgpa.
SGPA means Semester mark whatever you score in one one semester.
CGPA means average of your mark whatever semester you completed before.
That's all.I hope, you can get your requirement point.
Good luck...thank you
hi,
dear friend,
CGPA(commulative grade points average) is given overall all the semesters marks average .
SGPA(semester grade points average ) is given semester wise marks scored .
that is if you get 7.5 sgpa in 1st semister and 8.0 SGPA in 2nd semister then your CGPA will be AVERAGE of both the SGPA (that is (7.5+8.0)/2)
so, all the best..................
Most schools calculate Grade Point Average with this formula:
Quality Points Earned (based on letter grades, A-D, F)
-----------------------------------
Credit Hours Attempted
For example, if in one semester/quarter you took three classes worth 6 credit hours each, and you earned two "A's" and a "B" which, traditionally, hold numeric values of 4 and 3, respectively, then you first calculate the total number of quality points, like so:
6 x 4 = 24
6 x 4 = 24
6 x 3 = 18
----------------
TOTAL QPs = (24 + 24 + 18) = 66
Again, to calculate your GPA, you would divide the QPs by the total number of credits attempted for each letter grade earned (that is, A, B, C, D, or F), like so:
66 / 18 = 3.67
Thus, your GPA for that semester/quarter would be 3.67. To calculate CGPA, which is your cumulative GPA, you would do this for all classes that you have completed up to that point and in which you earned a grade of A-D or F.
I got 3186 out of 4600, what is my cgpa?

- SGPA refers to Semester Grade Points Average.
- CGPA stands for Cumulative Grade points Average.
- All the grade points of all semester when accumulated at divided with the Number of semester, we arrive at CGPA.
- Every university have different criteria to convert the CGPA into the percentage.
- In some universites the CGPA is multiplied by 9.5 in order to reach to the percentage of marks.
- Like if your CGPA is 6 then your percentage will be 6*9.5=57%.
- And some universities the percentage will be calculated by (CGPA-1)*10.
PLEASE TELL ME THAT CGPA TAKEN OUT IS ONLY OF ANNUAL 2FA\'s.............OR IT IS OF HALF YEARLY ANNUAL 4FA\'s........................

CGPA stands for Cumulative Grade Point Average, which is the aggregation of MGPA(Modular GPA).
it is the marketing and evaluation format for technical course like MBA,its relative are not absolute as percentage are.it is the average of grade point obtained in all the subject excluding the additional subject as per scheme of studies along with the total number of credit hours that you have attempted. An indicative equivalence of grade point and percentage of marks can be computed as
* subject wise indicative percentage of marks = 9.5 X GP of the subject
*Overall indicative percentage of marks= 9.5 X CGPA.
Every university have the different criteria to convert the CGPA into the percentage.
In order to reach the percentage of marks CGPA is multiplied by 9.5.
*for example,if you CGPA is 9,then your percentage will be ( 9.5 * 9)=85.5%
GOOD LUCK.............................................. ..............
why we use max pointer 4.0, why not 1.0 or 10.0 or 5.0 or else?
hi friend ,
C.G.P.A:- cumulative grade point average
it is just average of your S.G.P.A
C.G.P.A=(current c.G.P.A*(semester no.-1)+s.g.p.a)/semester no.
multiply no. of credit to pointer in individual subject then you will
get you S.G.P.A
thankyou
