its actually enough if you have done or doing any engineering course, and its advisable to go for any gre coaching classes like PRINCETON REVIEW and so on which would be for a few months course where you will be trained on how to face the questions, patterns, and questions, and communication skills and so on.whilw talking up thye exam you need to have a passport in your hand atleast for one country and its an online test that would give you a score which is valid for 5 years.now the pattern has been changed and the total score is reduced to 340 from 1600.....and you need to even choose the top universities where you are going to persue your higher education about which you will be trained there.

    Hi Buddy,

    GRE :

GRE stands for Graduate Record Examinations,it is a standard examination that allows students to continue their post graduation in United States of America.

To appear for GRE one must have

    1. Valid Passport
    2. Completed/Pursuing Graduation

Gre has Exam has two sections

    1. Verbal Section
    2. Quantitative Section

In the verbal section we are tested with vocabulary usage, reading comprehension and critical reasoning, this section is scaled on 130-170 in 1-point increments according to the new GRE pattern applicable from August 2011.(While the previous scale was 200-800 with 10 point increment). good knowledge and presence of mind and time usage are important in securing good score.

In quantitative section we are tested basic high school level maths and reasoning skills, similar to verbal section the points scale remains the same according to new GRE pattern.

Apart from these two sections in analytical writing section i.e issue task, argument task included in Paper based GRE.

    New GRE Pattern :

Some of the best GRE coaching institutes are

    VISU
    Career launcher
    IMS
    Achiever's Point
    Promac
    etc.....

Some of the books for GRE are

    Barron's GRE 19th edition
    Princeton review

As said it's better join a better institute for taking up GRE coaching after finishing with coaching, after you have prepared well then you should write the examination, after the completion of the examination results are instantly out, if you're satisfied with your score then it's okay if not you can again give the examination.

    All the best.
