Dear you have three options relevant to your current stream which are

    1. M.Sc in Information Technology or
    2. MBA in Information Technology or
    3. MCA - Master's of Computer Application

All above mentioned courses are master's degree means PG level and you may choose any one of the above mentioned because all are your related subjects courses but you should give your first preference to MBA in IT because MBA is mostly demanded by all sectors and there is no change in the syllabus of MBA in IT or M.Sc in IT but there would be some changes in MCA and both others so that you should go for MBA and through this you would learn various management techniques and skills which are necessary for placement and when you would apply for job then you would be preferred first for job because of management degree.

    All the best

Re: What to choose MCA or MBA in IT?

Good to see that you are interested on the higher education. It not only increase your knowledge but also it will increase your job opportunity also. On the recent time higher education has a very good demand.

As here you said that you are confused to what section you go after the doing the B.Sc on IT and you also tell that you are not quite confident on the programming so here i am giving you some details on the both MBA and MCA after that you decide what you will do.

    For the MCA :

In the case of the MCA you will stay on the technical side. Means i like to say that you will be appointed as an engineer on the different section like testing or the programming or the troubleshooting etc. You mainly have to do as an engineer post. As you said that you are not good on the programming so i think you will not prefer this type job after the completing the course of the MCA.

    For the MBA:

It is not the technical line. It is mainly the management line . After doing the MBA you will be appointed or you will get a job as a manager post. You an do MBA on the different section like Human resource, Finical, NGO, Information technology , hospitality management etc. SO it will be better for you that you will go for the MBA on the IT.

But i like to say that what ever you chose if you study well then you will get success on the each section . Now it i on you what you chose for your career. For the MBA you have to seat for the entrance exam like CAT, MAT, XAT, JMAT etc. And for the MCA you have to apply college wise and college will conduct the entrance exam.

    For the JOB opportunity:

MBA has more job opportunity then the MCA. But it is not that MCA has no job opportunity.

    All the best

    hope this will help you

Dear candidate you have mentioned here you have completed your BSc with IT.Now you are thinking for the purpose of higher study which will be right for you either MCA or MBA,again you have expressed you like to get more knowledge in programming.

Under above situation you can do both either MCA or MBA there are vast opportunities for MBA students then MCA candidates.According to your expression it transpire you need to enhance your subject knowledge so it is better you do MCA (Master in computer application) through this course you can gear up IT knowledges at least to get a job in software companies. So after the completion you can join to software companies to enhance your practical knowledges.

To do MBA you are to write MBA entrance exam like CAT/Mat/Xat/Jmat.Having minimum 50% marks in graduation you are eligible to do MBA entrance exam. There is no age bar so according to your appropriate time you can do MBA courses too for more development about your career.

    Thank You,
