IBPS has already changed its criteria from minimum 12th pass to graduation for December 2012 exams.

The exam was already conducted with the new eligibility conditions and its results were also declared by IBPS.

For the first time, exam was conducted through online mode and the interviews will also be conducted by IBPS itself, lessening the candidates burden for applying many bank interviews and also saves the candidates time and money.

So, the new eligibility condition for IBPS Clerk is any degree from recognized university with minimum of 20 years and maximum of 28 years for general category.

There is upper age relaxation for reserved category candidates as per the government rules.

The maximum age limit for OBC category is 31 years.

The maximum age limit for SC/ST Category is 33 years.

The maximum age limit for PWD/EX-Servicemen is 38 years.

    IBPS Clerk exam pattern:

As of new, there is no new notification for Clerk posts from IBPS.

So, after the completion of your graduation, you can apply for IBPS Clerk posts.

Re: Is it true that IBPS is planning to change the qualification for Clerk?

Dear you are definitely right that IBPS has changed the complete pattern of Clerk level exam in banking sector and the major changes are following :

    1. Only graduate can apply for IBPS Clerk exam and final year pursuing candidates are not eligible

    2. IBPS CWE clerk level exam would only be conducted in online mode means no offline mode

    3. Age limitation would be 20 year to 28 years means not allowed for 18 years old like previous clerk exam

    4. There is no change in the subject but the questions of each section has been short means in previous year clerk exam there were 50 questions in each subject but in this exam there would be only 40 questions for each subject means 200 marks for all 5 subjects and only 2 hours alloted for complete paper

    5. Interview Process would be common means no bank would announce the separate vacancies and interview dates means each and every qualified candidate would apply for interview process and may be shortlisted in any bank according to the marks and ranking and there is no guarantee for those who have secured less marks

    All the best
