As u see even a mba grduate can enter a software/it field as there is a specialisation in mba(systems)
take up mba and choose specialisation of systems at the same time learn the courses like c,c++ java from niit or aptech etc,...

Sap would also help u a lot. Ur from mumbai there are many sap training centres. Firstly go for mba

u can sure enter it field if u r interseted either like adminstrtr/networking

just visit any software firm u will find mba grads working over there working ask them how they got there.
Only they could guide u right

    dear friend,

If you want to make career, so you have to start your graduation from 1st one again, n by completing b.com it is really hard to get admitted into IT course. so it will be better for you if you complete your master degree (M.com) by this you may get good jobs with good salary or you can choose CA,CS or MBA in this there is a good career also.

    Thank you.

hey friend well in IT also when it comes for programming at the software side its important that u r good in maths, well u can go for computer hardwares & its development but for this u have to do BE/BTech.
as u r from BCom , u can go for working on Tally & also for the commerce students there are also placements in IT sector , bt not as an engineer .
well u can develop ur own logics & do research work in computer science as u r interested in it & u can thus prove urself.
    good luck

First thing, if you are weak in maths and accounting then you have opted a wrong subjects for graduation.

If you really wants to be in IT firms then you should get into a course which will be professional course for an IT students.

You should also take a computer course atleast a diploma from a reputed institute like NIIT or sikkim -manipal university.

Then there will be a chance for you to go into IT firm and can prove others wrong.

What i want to suggest you my friend is that, dont try hard to prove your friends wrong, just try to get your energy in right direction to achieve your goal.

    BEST OF LUCK.

Well, its a big Yes if you are passionate about the field! here is your strategy. first, fetch some good knowledge about the subject. target the small IT firms. Gain some experience there by learning the job. Then go for the big IT companies! it is a tough route though. you 'll be getting a low pay initially. But once you gain experience, your pay ll increase depending on your performance.
To start with, try the off campus interviews in universities. If its a big concern like TCS, you'll not be placed directly in the IT jobs, rather, they ll give you postings in managerial field with a good pay. If you get selected in some smaller firms, thats where you have greater probabilities of shining in your field.

Re: Is there any scope for only B.Com graduate student in IT industries?

    Dear friend,

As you are currently doing B.com. I will suggest you make your career in the commerce because if you think that the commerce is tough and for that reason you want to change your stream, then you are doing wrong thing in your life. Because today the commerce have high demand in the corporate sectors and reputed institutes. After done the B.com do the M.com because in the market there is high demand of M.com. Because M.Com will give you complete and depth knowledge of the Indian and International accounts or commerce. After done the M.Com you will get placement in the MNC or the reputed institutes like IISC, Hyderbad University, DU, IIT etc. There you will get salary same as the MNC provide. Also on the basis of the M.Com you can get jobs in the MNC as a account manager which is your dream.Because in B.com students are not much high knowledge as the corporate sector and other reputed institutes requiredBecause in B.com students are not much high knowledge as the corporate sector and other reputed institutes requiredBecause in B.com students are not much high knowledge as the corporate sector and other reputed institutes required

So, to change the streams because of tough not good thinking. As you say it is tough but if you do regular work hard you will definitely qualify your B.Com with good marks.

After done the M.Com you can apply for the MBA which will help you to get placement in the top MNC's companies. But do the MBA after the M.Com because in B.com students are not much high knowledge as the corporate sector and other reputed institutes required. Those knowledge you will get from the M.Com.

Further I also want to say that choose only reputed institutes for the PG. because its also effect on your career and the top reputed institutes have minor fees as compared to the other private institutes.

The some top Institutes are Sri Ram College of Commerce, Hyderabad University, BHU, Delhi University, Loyola College, Pond cherry Central University, Madras University, St.Xavier College-kolkata etc.

But as you also want to make your career in Networking then you can do it part time course because these courses are hardly for the 2 -3 hours and you can do it while doing M.Com. So my friend don't do big mistakes of your life. M.com is not hard but only need hard work and passion.

    best of luck

IT industry is an industry which makes our country to rise. This industry is open for every one. Any one who have good knowledge on programming side are eligible to enter in this industry. During campus recruitments some companies ask for only Computer Science graduates. But most of the companies accept students of all graduations. If you have a good knowledge on Networking side you can try for Network Engineer jobs in Off campus interview. To make your path of entering IT industry safer i would suggest you to do MCA which is expanded as Master of Computer Applications. On finishing MCA you can join in IT industry through campus interview itself. To join in MCA only eligibility required is to do graduation of any discipline and having maths as one of your subjects in 12th std. Thus without losing your hope you can try to join in IT industry in any of the above given mode of entries.

dont worry , you are also eligible for a job in i.t. companies .

actually , you are not trying for an i.t. job , your intrest is on networking side .

so, you will have some walkins after completion of your degree

so, you should have to complete the following courses ,

    ~~ hardware and networking
with only this course , you will have a salary around 8,000 to 14,000 permonth in the starting

it is better if you complete the follwoing course also

    ~~ CCNA

if you complete this course , then you will can get more salary
you can get a salary of around 21,000 to 33,000 permonth

if you want more salary , then it is better to complete the following course

    ~~ CCNP

if you complete this course , then you will get a very nice salary of around 33,000 to 45,000 permonth .

later after some experience , you will get morethan 50,000 permonth

    all the best

    no need to bother .
every i.t. company needs the degree/b.tech candidates for the hardware engineer posts and for the network engineer posts

generally ,the b.com graduates are elilgible for both ,

    >> software jobs
    >> hardware jobs

your intrest is on hardware side.

so, get a job in any i.t. compnay as an hardware engineer , you should have to complete atleat two in these courses

    >>> HARDWARE AND NETWORKING

    >>> CCNA

    >>> CCNP

    >>> CCIE

*** generally , it is very good for you to complete CCNA .

with ccna , along with your degree , you can expect a good salary in many i.t. companies

if you complete ccnp , then you can demend salary .

so, try to complete ccna first
and then search for the job in different i.t. companies like ,

Well scope of B.Com students to get job is not that much as you can get good jobs after only completing your graduation as today many students do graduation so companies expect something different in you from other students. So,it will be better if you will do some short term courses of your area of interest otherwise taking master degree is always good........................

    Yes you can prove it.

You can enter it field after pursing mba in systems which is lot of preference in it companies.

It companies recruit commerce students also with outmba with basic computer knowledge.

If you want to become network engineer you can go for mba systems specialisation then you have ample oppoutrtunity to get your dream true.

If you do cs, ca you are not eligible for network admin, candidate must know about systems to deal with sysytems .

So if your aim is network admin go for mba in systems specialisation.

Re: Is there any scope for only B.Com graduate student in IT industries?

In my opoinion t will be better for if you make your career in the commerce because if you think that the commerce is tough and for that reason you want to change your stream, then you are doing wrong thing in your life. There you will get salary same as the MNC provide
esle in other case If you want to become network engineer you can go for mba systems specialisation then you have ample oppoutrtunity to get your dream true.If you do cs, ca you are not eligible for network admin, candidate must know about systems to deal with sysytems ,then only you can go for it industries..........

    Dear Umesh,

Its true that most of the job vacancies in IT industry are for BTech folks and then BSc candidates
    are preferred.

But graduates from other field like you can join IT industry by doing some specialized hardware
Courses like networking or software professional courses.

As every major IT companies have their own department for managing hardware and networking issues
Or installing programs and providing minor maintenance, in which they recruit graduates from
Non technical field, if they had done any computer courses.

But these opportunities are low paid and growth is not so good. Profile is similar to technical support
    in BPO companies.

The best opportunities for you to join IT industry and paly the major role will be to pursue MBA course
In the field of IT branch or Finance or HR and then join IT industry.

In this way, salary and career growth will be good.
SOme of the good companies where you'll have good career growth:
    - CTS
    - Accenture
    - TCS
    - IBM
    - Infosys
    - Fiserv
