    Syllabus, eligibility and reference books for preparation of NET/SET exams? Is MBA beneficial for my career?

    I am a MCA student and want to know about the syllabus,eligibility and reference books to be used for the preparation of NET/SET Exams.Also i want to know whether i should try MBA ,will it be beneficial for my career ?

    NET =====>>>>>>>National Eligibility Test
    It is a national level test.candidates who can crack this are given grant bu UGC to pursue their studies in foreign universities


    Eligibility Criteria

    ~Academic Qualifications

    Candidates belonging to the General/Other Backward Classes (OBC) who have secured at least 55% marks (without grace or rounding off in Master's Degree (or equivalent) examination in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Sciences etc. are eligible

    5 % relaxation of marks for Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST) category and Physically Handicapped (PH)/ Visually Handicapped (VH) candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without grace or rounding off) in Master's degree (or equivalent) examination are eligible to appear in the NET examination

    Candidates securing 54.99% marks or below (even 49.99% marks or below for SC/ST & PH/VH candidates) in Master's Degree or equivalent Examination are NOT eligible for this Test. THERE IS NO PROVISION OF ROUNDING OFF OF MARKS TO MAKE IT 55% (50% FOR SC/ST and PH/VH)

    Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing at the qualifying Master's Degree examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed are also ELIGIBLE


    ~Age Limit and relaxation

    There is no upper age limit for candidates appearing only for eligibility for lectureship


    Pattern of NET


    For both lectureship and JRF same question paper is prepared by UGC. It constitutes subjects as follows



    Paper I -Objective Type- General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Methods (50 questions) – 100 Marks

    Paper II- Objective Type – Core Subject (50 questions)- 100 Marks
    Paper III- Descriptive Type – Core Subject – will have four sections. Section 1- 5x5= 25 marks (30 words), Section 2 –15x5=75 marks (30 words), Section 3- 5x12= 60 marks (200 words) and Section 4- 1x40= 40 marks(1000 words)
    Grand Total = 400 marks

    Syllabus of NET covers all the topics that you have learnt in your graduate and post-graduate level

    MBA (Management for Business administration) is beneficial to your career if and only if you prefer to join the professional service sector
    but if you want to go in the research field or teaching profession, then certainly MBA is not required
    after MBA you will get jobs in the top MNCs in our countries and also abroad



    So....first decide what you really want to do..... then go for it

    HELLO DEAR,
    NET and SET exam for MBA Degree its a professional course master degree and yes MBA benificail for your carrier you get good package after complete MBA degree.
    you go for MBA its a best for your bright future beacause change your personality
    NET stand by national eligibilty test.You crack this exam after you join UGC foriegn country.After graduation you apply MBA course with 55% percentage marks only.MBA 2years course .

    Hello Friend,

    NET - National Eligibility Test.

    NET Exam is Conduct by UGC(University Grant Commission). NET exam is conduct Twice in year.
    Mainly NET exam is Conduct in month of June & December.

    ~~Required Qualifications for NET ::-

    => Education::-
    you have to complete your Post graduate degree course with Minimum 55% marks.
    5% relaxation in Percentage for SC/ST, OBC Candidates.
    Final year Post graduate candidates are also eligible for NET Exam.

    => Age Limit::-
    @@For Lectureship Post :Your Age Must Above 19 years & There is no Upper age Restriction.
    @@For Junior Research Fellowship :Your age must Between 19 to 28 years for JRF.
    Upper Age Relaxation is Allowed for SC/ST, OBC candidates as Per rules of Govt.

    => Examination Scheme :


    3 Exams Conduct for NET exam.
    2 Exam is Objective and 1 is Descriptive Types.
    There is no Negative Marking in NET examination.


    Fees Structure For NET :

    For General Candidate- Rs. 450/-
    For OBC candidate- Rs. 225/-
    For SC/ST candidate- Rs.150/-


    SET Stands for State Eligibility Test. SET exam is Conduct at States Level. SET exam is Conduct by State Public Service Commission.
    SET Exam is Conduct for Lecturer & JRF post at state Level.

    Eligibility Criteria, Age Limit Everything is Same for NET & SET. Main Difference is that NET is national Level & SET is State Level Exam.

    If you have MBA in PG degree course then you have best Course for Career. MBA is most reputed degree course now-a-days.
    MBA is most recommended course in World. MBA is surely Beneficial for you. Remember Don't be overconfident that you have MBA then you have Good Career.
    If you want to make good career then you have to Study Good. you have to make good percentage in MBA degree.
    Companies don't want just MBA Degree holder they want Talented Students.
    Study Good, Make Good Percentage you will get Surely Best Job.
