Re: Which subjects should I have in 10+2 Humanity stream to become IPS Officer?

I will first tell you the Eligibilty Criteria to appear in the UPSC civil Services Exams.
If you clear this exams and get good rank, than only you may get the IPS .

    Graduation Pass

Age should be between 21 and 30 years
OBC gets 3 years age relaxation and SC/St gets 5 years age relaxation.

Number of Attempts- 4 for general candidates, 7 for OBC candidates
    No Restriction for SC/ST candidates.

Now the UPSC civil Services Exams are held in Three Stages:
Stage 1- Prelims ; In this stage there are two papers of General studies and General Mental ability, english comprehension.
In this stage there is common paper for all candidates.

Stage 2- Mains -In this stage you have to choose 2 subjects from the below list.

    Optional Subjects-Civil Services Main
    Agriculture Management
Animal Husbandry & Vetinary Science Mathematics
    Anthropology Mechanical Engineering
    Botany Medical Science
    Chemistry Philosophy
    Civil Engineering Physics
Commerce & Accountancy Political Science & International Relations
    Economics Psychology
    Electrical Engineering Public Administration
    Geography Sociology
    Geology Statistics
    Indian History Zoology

So i would suggest that since you are still in class 11th you just concentrate on your studies and after class 12th see in which subjects you are strong and in which subject you are doing well.
Choose that subject as optional subject while giving the UPSC mains exams
