In my view MBA WOULD BE A GOOD OPTION , but if MBA is not done from a good institutes like IIM,IIFT,XLRI,IMT, MDI,FMS,Symbiosis Etc than again it will be a situation where you will be without a job after spending another 2 years studying MBA and investing 13-14 lakhs rupees.

Most of the MBA entrance tests notifications have already been announced with last date to apply for CAT being 19th Sep 2012
You can apply for these entrance exams and prepare well.
If you get admisison in reputed college than only take admisison otherwise not

Also i would suggest that you try for the BANK PO and BANK Specialist officers written exams .
These exams are conducted by IBPS
Both these exams will now be held in 2013
    Website of IBPS-www.ibps.in

Also keep on trying for jobs in your field, even if you get job in small software company, join it, till the time profile is as per your studies.

    Dear Friend,
Please do not get disheartened so quickly. You marks are good enough to get jobs. According to me if job options are not coming to you then you should go for the opportunities. There are many job opportunities it is just that you have to try and utilize.

You can definitely go for MBA, it will boost your career but the MBA should be from a good college or else it will be a waste.

MBA stands for Master of Business Administration. You need to appear for the entrance exam and get a good rank for your admission in a well reputed B-School. There are many entrance exams like:

    >CAT
    >MAT
    >XAT,etc

    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

    >>The candidates should have a bachelor degree in any stream from a recognized university.

    >>The candidates should have score 50% marks in graduation for CAT exam.

    >>There is no age limit.

    >>There is no limitation on the number of attempts.

There are several streams in MBA also like

According to me you should go for HR. It is a demanding course.

But if you are getting admission in a very good B-school then only take admission.

You can also apply for Bank PO jobs or Railway jobs. You need to take the written exam and after qualifying the interview.

You can also prepare forGATE and apply for PSUs. Many PSUs hire CS engineers. Though the GATE exam is very tough but it is very helpful also.

Re: Should I go for MBA if I am not getting a job after B.Tech? Which branch to choose in MBA?

    HI Nitish,

Your idea to do MBA in this lack of jobs scenario is quite obvious but it is my suggestion to you that if you really want to do MBA then go only for good institutes like IIM,IIFT,XLRI,IMT, MDI,FMS,IBS, ISB, Symbiosis etc.

As, just doing MBA doesnt than guarantee you of getting a higher package job in a branded company. In fact you can again face the same situation of wasting 2 years time and then also not getting a job.

Thus, do MBA but only from the top colleges. And for that you fight CAT and other exams like XAT, SNAP, IBSAT, etc. Most of the MBA entrance tests notifications have already been announced with last date to apply for CAT being 19th Sep 2012. So enroll today as it is the last day to enroll for CAT2012.

I would also like to suggest you giving IBPS-specialist exams from IT side, which just requires a B.Tech gradute from a recognised engineering. This way you will be linked to your engineering backgorud as well.

The choice is surely yours, undoubtedly.

All the very best for your future!

    Regrads,

Re: Should I go for MBA if I am not getting a job after B.Tech? Which branch to choose in MBA?

Since you have just passed out the B Tech, you should not worry now about not getting a job. There are lot of opportunities in the private sector these days for Computer science graduates. While looking out for a better job, you can now join any call center for a job and keep trying for better ones.

In my opinion, trying to do the MBA just due to the reason that you are not getting a job after B Tech is not advisable. If you really want to do MBA, wait for a while. Just gain some experience in any field as a fresher and then attempt. Hurry makes worry. It is time for you to begin some where. Then you will realize which field in MBA suites you the most.MBA is a business oriented professional course , therefore any technical background will be helpful only if you are working in the administration of a business in the same field which you have studied in B Tech.
