    Re: Which programming language should be learnt by an B.Tech ECE student in order to get job under campus selection in software companies ?

    Hi Buddy,

    Being a student belonging to ECE branch you can get into software field provided that you must have learnt courses related to get a job in software companies.

    You have mentioned that you are in 3rd year which gives you a minimum of 1 year period of time as most of the campus placements are conducted in the final year of graduation.

    To get a job in campus placements you must follow the below instructions.

    --> First and foremost the basics of software languages are C, C++ which is must for you to complete.
    --> You can go for JAVA after the completion of c, c++ as it gives you an added advantage as it is one of the domains where you can get placed.
    --> For completion of C, C++ and JAVA a minimum of 6 months of time is required.
    --> For the remaining time make sure you prepare well yourself for different rounds conducted by software companies i.e written test, group discussion, technical and Hr round.
    --> You have mentioned mainly TCS but you must remember one thing the rounds conducted by Software companies are same and whether your college will invite TCS to conduct placement in your college or not also plays a key role.
    --> Don't stick to one company because if that company doesn't come then you'll face a lot of problems once you get out of college and try separately as the competition will be high.

    Go for the above mentioned courses and prepare well and get a job in campus placements itself if not you'll be facing some difficulties after completion of your graduation.
    All the best.

    see , there are many software courses .

    but , you are just a fresher . so, some courses which are best suitabe for you as frseher are ,

    ~~ java
    ~~ c-language
    ~~ c++
    ~~ oracle
    ~~ .net

    and mainframes , sap are totally for experience candidates .

    when you are in fianl year , you are eligible for campus placements .
    later , after completion of your b.tech , you are eligible for many walkins in different companies .

    for most of the mnc comapnies you should have 60% in your b.tech

    for tcs , you should have 60% in 10th , 12th and in b.tech

    ~~ you should be well prepared in anyone of the above said courses
    ~~ you should have good coomunication skills
    ~~ you should have good command in your project work
    ~~ you should know all the responsibilites of you in your project

    Re: Which programming language should be learnt by an B.Tech ECE student in order to get job under campus selection in software companies ?

    YES , to attend for the walkins or campus placements in different I.T. companies , a canddiate should have good command in his/her techncial course

    So, as you are in 3rd year , it is better to go for coaching for anyone of these courses

    * C-LANGAUGE & C++
    * JAVA
    core java , adv. java

    * Oracle- Applications
    * Oracle- DBA
    * . net

    ** Actually , these are the good courses for the freshers

    ** you can attend for the campus placements in Final year of your B.tech , not now

    ~ you should get a good command in anyone of the above techncial course
    ~ you should know well about your self detials
    ~ you should be perfect at your project work
    ~ you should be perfect at Aptitude , Reasoning topic quesitons

    Most of the campus interviews selection process is , even TCS also

    1) written test (For TCS , the written test is online)
    2) Group discussion
    3) H.R.Interview
    4) Techncial interview

    all the best ,. . .

    Re: Which programming language should be learnt by an B.Tech ECE student in order to get job under campus selection in software companies ?

    ECE students can take up either core or software jobs after their graduation.
    To get into a very good software concern, you need to be strong in your programming skills.

    You have to strong in

    * C
    * C++
    * JAVA
    * OOPS and Datastructures

    These three are the must to be learnt.

    Apart form these you can also do some courses and learn

    * PHP
    * SQL
    * Oracle
    * Web designing
    * Multimedia and Animation
    * CAD

    and others....!

    Should be convenient to work under LINUX / UNIX environments....!

    You must develop your logical reasoning and aptitude skills which might help you in problem solving and simpler programming...!

    Best wishes :-)
