Why not.......you can prepare for IAS exam without coaching , provided you get right material for study. Getting help from coaching institutes will be an added advantage as you know in today's competitive world you are required to consider Time management ,professional help. As Competition, is very tough and you have to study hard.If you are serious enough to devote 3 hours every day for seven months before prelims you must be able to clear prelims assuming you are good in your optionals.

    Hi Buddy,

Yes definitely it's possible to prepare for IAS without coaching. The main adjustment for you to prepare for IAS would be getting the right strategy to plan accordingly.

As you have said you are working it would be better for you to start preparation well in advance say 10-12 months which gives you ample of time to prepare. firstly make a habit of reading news papers, current affairs magazines related for IAS preparation, by getting the material for preparation would definitely help you in adding more strength for clearing prelims.

You would be required to consult a professional in order for you to clear MAIN's. Proper Planning with hard work and dedication will leads to success.
    All the best.

The Indian Administrative Services examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. It is the executive branch of government of India. It has three stages:

    1. Preliminary exam

    2. Main exam

    3. Interview

It is possible to prepare for IAS exam on your own without any coaching institute.

First of all you should be able to bear the strain of preparing for this exam. You should start preparing for mains along with prelims.

Read the text fully and note important things separately so that you may not have to go through the whole text again. This would save your time and energy. General Studies (GS) cover content from 10 + 2 books of NCERT.

You must regularly read national daily, India Yearbook (Publication Division) relevant NCERT books and a good magazine. For mains there are 4 optional subjects.

For choosing the optional subject you can select the one in which you have graduated. Choose the optional subjects based on the availability of study material, your personal interest, and expertise and success rate. Try to solve previous years question paper and appear for the test series.

Yes Sir , You can apply prepare for the IAS Examination without the help of any of the coaching center .
There is nothing that a human can do and similarly you yourself can prepare yourself for the IAS Examination .

And you should prove those wrong who go for the outside coaching by passing with good Marks .
If you prepare yourself accordingly with the syllabus of 11th and 12th class Arts stream of subjects
than you need not take any coaching for the Preparation of IAS Examination .
This is because most of the syllabus of the IAS Examination is
covered under the 11th and 12th class CBSE Board education .

So Best of luck my friend .

Yes this is possible and some brilliant students are also doing this but my dear as we all know that this is the IAS officer exam and this will be too tough that without taking the coaching you can’t clear it. You have to learn all the basics concepts of your subjects. By taking the help of any coaching centre you can improve yourself and can also learn everything with the short solutions. If you are not interested and you are thinking that i can do this myself then proceed. All the best!!
