Yes you can get admission in BDS on the basis of your 12th exam and an entrance exam.
To get admission in BDS you can give the following entrance exams:
    1. NEET
    2. COMEDK
NEET(National eligibility entrance test) is conducted by CBSE to give admission in MBBS/BDS.It has over over 20,000 BDS seats in govt. as well as pvt. colleges.
COMEDK(consortium of medical engineering and dental colleges of karanatka) has over 1500 BDS seats.
To get appear in these exams You should have scored atleast 50% in PCB in 12th exams.

You can not do BDS on diploma basis.

You will have to Be a 12th pass out of science stream with 50% aggrigate and above 50% in PCB group.

Then you will have to give MHT-CET and score above 170 out of 200 to get admission for BDS course.

    Hope this helps you.

If you want to do BDS that is bachelors of dentistry than you will have to qualify the entrace test conducted at 12th level. On basis of your degree you cannot take admission in BDS courses conducted by government universities. But if you want to take direct admission and if you don't have any funding issues than you can try and find out a private dental college for admission to this course.

But if you want to take admission in government dentistry college than you will have to go through one of the entrance test and get an appropriate merit to get entrance into this course.

Re: Possibility to study BDS course for diploma holder in Advanced Dentistry?

Dear BDS is a bachelor's degree course in Dental Surgery that can only be completed after passing 12th class with Biology, Physics and Chemistry subject and students should have passed in the entrance examination of the university conducted by institute every year as - NEET, AIPMT etc. so you should know that before getting admission in BDS

Diploma course are basically not accepted by Diplomas are accepted on the basis of minimum duration of completing a diploma course so you know that XII is compulsory to be appeared for NEET entrance examination so your other qualification also should be equivalent as XII with Biology Stream and if you have completed this then you are eligible to apply

I hope you have completed your diploma in dentistry after XII in Biology because minimum eligibility for all medical courses, diploma and certificates is to be passed in 12th with relevant stream so there is no problem but if you got your diploma after 10th then you can not apply for entrance examination

Most of the candidates prefers to qualify NEET - National Eligibility Cum Entrance Examination to get admission in various reputed and professional medical courses - MBBS and BDS to make their future and there are some other entrance exams conducted by universities which provides medical courses as - JIPMER so everything depends on your choice and I would like to suggest you for NEET and I have mentioned eligibility

Age limits are also necessary that are 17 years is minimum and 25 years of age is maximum age limit. Upper age relaxation for reserved category candidates that are 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBCs

Your Advanced Diploma will not make you eligible but your XII with Biology makes you eligible to apply for NEET and other medical entrance exam but remember that percentage criteria is also calculated in this exam that is minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General category candidates and 40% marks for reserved category - OBC, SC, ST, PWD to make sure eligibility for NEET entrance test

I have provided you a possible way to get admission in BDS please concentrate and get admission

    All the best
