Re: Percentage required in 10th, Intermediate and Degree for Civil Services exams?

see , for the exams like ,

    ~~ IAS
    ~~ IPS , you should not worry about your 10th , 12th percentages .

the eligiblity criteria for these posts is ,

~~ a candidate should have completed graduation from a recognised university
~~ a candidate should have secured a minimum of 50% in graduation
~~ a candidate should have secured 45% in graduation , if he/she belongs to sc or st category only

    the age criteria : -

~~ the age of the candidate should be not morethan 30 years , if he/she belong to general category
~~ the age of the candidate should be not morethan 33 years , if he/she belong to obc category
~~ the age of the candidate should be not morethan 35 years , if he/she belong to sc or st category

but , there is a restriction in number of attempts .

for general category candidate = 4 attempts
for obc category candidate = 7 attempts
for sc or st category candidates = unlimited (but , the attempts are valid if the candidate's age is notmorethan 35 years only )

so , you should have 50% in graduation to apply for the exam

If you are determined to make your future in the field of Civil services then minimum % required by you in 10th, 12th and in degree is 55% that is only the minimum requirement. But one think you should keep in mind that you have to make good command in those subjects which you choose in the degree because it will help you get good score in written civil services examinations.

For the Civil services Exams, 10th and 12th percentage are not required. There is no need to get the 10th and 12th marks for the eligibility in the Civil services Exams.

For the Civil services Exams :

^ You should have completed degree in any discipline from recognized university.

^ You should have minimum 50% aggregate of marks in the degree.

^ There is a relaxation for the SC/ST/ and OBC candidates. 45% aggregate in the degree.

^ You should be a citizen in India.

^ If you belong to the General category your age limit should be between 21 to 30 years.
^ If you belong to OBC category then age should be between 21 to 33 years.
^ If you belong to the SC/ST category your age should be between 21 to 35 years.

So the 10th and 12th aggregate of marks are not matter for the Civil service Examination. But, You should have 50% in the Degree.

sir,the results of class 10 and 12 does not matter much in civil service examination.because the minimum educational qualification marks to be able to get eligibility for Civil Services is that the candidate the candidate must have a undergraduate degree or a post graduate degree in any stream from a recognized university.and the candidate must be a citizen of India and for general category students age limit is 21-30 but for ST/SC there is a relaxation of 5 years. and for OBC it is 3 years.

You need not worry about your percentage scored at 10th or 12th because that is not a criteria at all to sit for the civil service examinations. The candidate must have passed his 10+2 and also a degree from a recognized university.Percentage of marks scored there are of least importance.
Further, there is an age criteria however. You must ensure you are within the age limit. The age limit for different groups is as follows:

    ~21-30 years for General category
    ~21-33 years for OBC
    ~21-35 years for SC/ST

So if you done your graduation or in the final year then you can apply for the exam .

The exam pattern is below :
    1) preliminary exam
    2) main exam
    3) interview
The final selection based on the marks available in the main exam plus interview .
Preliminary exam consist two papers and one should pass this exam for qualifying for the next round .
Main exam consists 9 descriptive type paper
