No dear this is not necessary to be a maths student in class 10 or 12 for a CA. any one can apply for CA who have minimum 33% marks in class 12 from any stream. CA is not done in any streams there is a paper which having all the subjects like eco,accounts,law,bom, etc subjects will increase as your level increase so there is no CA course which done in eco field there is common for all there is no individual stream.
Best of luck
Maths is the most essential and most important subject in clas 10th and 12th to become an CA in future...actually CA includes mathematical implementation so you are bound to have maths as a subject in clas 10th as well as in class 12th..
HAVE A GREAT FUTURE AND BEST OF LUCK.....
Hi friend,
Don't worry, be happy. CA can be done by any one after completing schooling. You can also go in economic stream or directly CA. Only thing is you should keep working out for CA with full concentration. If once you have completed CA with good percentage you r life will be well settled.
ALL THE VERY BEST.....
Hi Buddy,
To know the right answer to your question you must go through the following points.
--> Till 10th standard each and every student in India has some common subjects in a whole of 6 subjects which has 2 language subjects. English subject common for all and MATHS, SCIENCE and SOCIAL STUDIES.
--> Only after completion of 10th standard you'll have to choose a subject based on your interest.
--> In class 11 you'll have to choose between Maths, science (Biology) and Economics.
--> As you're interested in CA you must go for Economics rather than choosing maths and science.
--> By opting for other subjects such as maths and science it will not create any problem in doing CA.
It's your own choice to decide which subject to choose in 12th standard, as you have least interest in Maths then go for Commerce and Economics stream it will also be helpful for you while doing CA.
All the best.

Up to 10th level maths is necessary in every boards.
So you should have at least 10th level mathematics knowledge to go in any stream.
- As far as CA is concerned you should be good in mathematics and you can become a CA with economics branch too..
- Since economics is also little related with the maths so you should know the basic mathematics up to 10th level.
Best of luck....
no Maths is not compulsory for the CA exam..
I would tell you the eligibility for the CA exam:
1. The candidate must have passed the 10+2 level from a recognized board.
2. The candidate who is a Commerce graduate should have 50% marks.
Non-commerce graduates without maths should have 55% marks.
Non-commerce graduates with Maths should have 60% marks.
All the best

look...... whatever stream you choose.......or whatever field of study you take, you must have to study MATHS TILL 10TH AT LEAST
~~there is no education board in INDIA where you can omit maths before passing class 10th
In my opinion if possible try to get a good grip on maths and practice hard ....well the reason is very simple.....since your ambition is to study CA....... for which you need to sit for entrance examinations and solve lots of ANALYTICAL PROBLEMS ......which you will not be able to do if you are not good at maths .moreover there will be aptitudes related to maths
so clearly you can see how much maths in needed to crack CA entrance
am suggesting you a particular combination after you pass 10th:
pursue studies in Commerce stream and take economics and business mathematics(it is not as tough as Maths of Science steam....and it will also help you to get along with maths that you will face later on in your course and in the entrance examinations)
to crack CA you need to have a good conception on:
- finance
- accountancy
- budget
~~CPT entrance exam paper has 4 subjects
Financial accounting ====60marks
Business law =========40marks
Business economics ====50marks
Maths and statistics ====50marks
So you can see that you have to face 50 marks of tough maths in the CPT exam......so MATHS base is highly required!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!you need to practice quite a good amount of maths......there is no way escaping maths if you wanna go for CPT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
don't get scared out of your skin seeing mathematics as most students do.......start practicing maths from the basic level!!!!!!
practice regularly and maintain proper discipline in your studies......don't loose your concentration and have full determination!!!!!!!!!!!!
you need to study very hard as this course is very tough
only hard working students get the chance
very few are able to pass out in this course with good marks
after course you will get very good jobs......so without worrying about future,,,,study hard....try to do maths without getting scared of it
ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Although to enroll for CA course having mathematics in class 10^{th} is not necessary. As student from any stream having a passed higher secondary examination can get enrolled in CA course. But, if you really want to fight CA examination which one of the toughest exams, I would suggest you that done leave mathematics as this would help you increase your calculation and build up your logics strong. Moreover, in CA entrance exam i.e. CPT there is a exam of Maths as well as Statistics and if you leave maths today you got learn it that time. So better be prepared from today only.
CA is not done in any stream particularly. And yes there is Economics paper in CPT as well. So learning economics is also essential for you. All the very best. You can ask further questions if still in doubt!

hi !
Yes maths is important in 10th and also in 12th if you want to be a CA. I don't know of any board in India that allows maths as an optional subject in 10th. It is a compulsory subject so your question doesn't make much sense. Don't shy away from hard work if you plan to be a CA, you're going to need a lot of that.
All the best !
Is maths necesarry in class 11 & 12to become a CA?
hi,
normally in india 10th syllabus will have maths, science, social, english,and optional subjects,maths is necessary in 10th class but it is not mandatory for the ca course.
ca can be done after 12th class or after graduation.
after schooling ca course is for 5 years
after graduation it will completed in 2 years.
ca can be done by any stream candidate maths, science, economics, commerce, economics will be the added advantage for the ca subject.
so dont worry about economics or commerce subject for ca
you can choose any subject of your interest and you can go for ca
all the best
HELLO ASPIRANTS ,
NO,maths is not compulsary sir ,its helps only calculation in CA 10th class maths .IF you dont
get a maths so, no problem you leave this subject and economics is a main for CPT exam so
better prepared economics chapters. Only commerce student go for CA course .Commerce
biggest tough exam for CA in indai .If you get 12th standard maths so easy for CA prepration
In economics statistics and without maths you got learn more and ofcourse is also essential
for you economics.You done CA with economics .
GOOD LUCK
