Is M.Phil mandatory for admission in PhD? Whether having 5 years of experience is enough?

Is a test or M.Phil a pre requisit and mandatory for admission to PhD? Will a work eperience of 5 years in the same field be enough?

M phil is not mandatory to apply for PHd in any univeristy
min eligibilty criteria is Post graduation with min 50% marks and some university even asks for min 55% marks

the universities conducts the written tests for admission to PHD
But if you have done Mphil or NET/SET/GATE (valid score) qualified you are exempted from giving the written exams

You can directly attend the interview and if you clear the interview you can do PHD in that university

So you can apply for PHD, but you have to give the entrance tests
