    How to prepare for IAS exam? When will I get application form in post office?

    i want to write ias exam in 2012.but till today i donot have any details about these.then i donot go to any coaching institutes.so i study from my home.please when i get application form for ias 2012 in post office and then where i but all ias exam books in tanjore district?and that books are how many cost?how to prepare for ias exam 2012.i believe me.if you answer my questions ,definitely i become an ias officer.please help me.i am bsc(information technology) graduate.PLEASE REPLY IMMEDIATELY.

    The IAS exam will be held on may,2012 and the last date of filing of form was already out. To start the preperation you have to read the newspapers, Current affair magazines, reference books etc.

    The form of the post office will be issued after the notification issued by the state government. The exact date is not mentioned anywhere.

    Dear sir/madam,
    - The next IAS exam will be held on 20/05/2012. The last date for fill up the form is already ended.
    - You can read daily newspaper and reference books of Pearsons for the purpose of preperation for the test.
    - The fees for the IAS exam is Rs.50/- for the general category.
    - The date of exam for the post in a post office is not declared yet for the year 2012. You can regularly check the official website and read latest notification for the posts.

    UPSC conducts civil services aptitute test(CSAT) .
    this exam is conducted to fill posts in 24 govt vacancies that includes IAS, IPS, IFS

    Min eligibilty criteria to sit in this exam is graduation pass
    Min age to apply is 21 years
    Max age-30 years

    OBC gets 3 years age relaxation, SC/ST gets 5 years age relaxation.

    Number of attemps-04 for general candidates, 7 for OBC candidates and no restriction for SC/ST CANDIDATES.

    This exam is held in three stages:

    Next Prelims exams will be held in May 2013
    Forms of prelims will come out in feb 2013
    Details of the forms will come out in the employment news and rozgar samachar in the month of feb 2013

    so you have to fill the forms in feb 2013

    You need to join a local IAS coaching institute, plus read daily one national newspaper and one national monthly magazine
