If you are a graduate student of commerce, then you have to choose law and commerce and accountancy as a subjects for the written test of IAS. These subjects will help to achieve good marks in mains and improve the % of whole IAS result. Otherwise the list issued by the UPSC consists of 28 subjects and out of which you have to choose any 2 of the following optional subjects of your choice.
    Thanks

For IAS, one need to crack civil services examination being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year.

The complete selection procedure for this is by
    -CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test)
    -Civil Services Main Examination
    -Interview

Candidates have to qualify in CSAT Exam to appear for the civil services main examination.

The CSAT Exam consists of questions from the following categories
    -Aptitude
    -General English
    -General Awareness

So, try to be strong enough with these aspects by the time you appear for Interview.

You need to opt for 2 optional subjects for civil services main examination while registering for this exam.

As you are a candidate from B.Com course, the following subjects will be a good choice for you for Main Examination
    -Indian History
    -Geology
    -Commerce & Accounting
    -Management
    -Economics
    -Psychology etc.

You have to choose 2 optional subjects and have to take main examination on them.

Know the syllabus for these subjects and have good preparation for the same.

    Wish you all the best.
