    If you are Aspiring to Become an IPS officer then you should have to apply for Civil Service Examination which is conducted by UPSC twice in year for the post of an IPS Officer, IAS Officer etc......



    IPS stands for Indian Police Service




    If you have completed graduation Degree in any Discipline from recognise universities then you are eligible for IPS exam....

    Final year students are also applicable.

    Citizen of India...


    Age Limit:

    General category student:- 21-30 years.

    OBC relaxation in upper age +3 years.


    SC/ST relaxation in upper age +5 years.


    No. Attempt:

    General - max. 4

    OBC - max. 7.


    SC/ST - No limit.


    Exam Pattern:

    Preliminary Exam.

    Main Exam


    Interview

    Indian Civil Services which forms the major backbone of Indian government , governing all Major bodies which run the Central and State governments. Civil services mainly recruits 3 types of services namely
    1. All India Services
    2. Central Services
    3. State Services


    UPSC ( Union Public Service Commission ) conducts the common entrance exam All India wide for the young and meritorious aspirants who want to serve for the Nation through Civil services. UPSC exam is considered as one of the toughest exam in India in which 4 lakh people write the exam for nearly 900 posts.


    For applying this post first you must have graduation in any stream from recognised university.


    IPS ( Indian Police Service ) is one of the All India Service and controlling authority is Ministry of Home Affairs. The exam is mainly held in 3 rounds
    1. Prelims ( held in May )
    2. Main ( held in October / November )
    3. Interview ( held in March / April )


    Eligibility :


    Educational qualification :


    you must have completed your Degree in any stream from any recognized university or its affiliated college or from a Deemed university recognized under University grants commission act 1956 with minimum percentage of marks.


    Age Criteria :


    you must have minimum of 21 years and maximum of 30 years of age. Upper age relaxation is accepted if you belong to any of the special category like


    - SC / ST - 5 years.
    - Other BC - 3 years.
    - Defense services personnel - 5 years.
    - State of Jammu & Kashmir - 5 years.


    Nationality : you must be


    - an Indian
    - a subject of Nepal
    - a subject of Bhutan
    - a Tibetan refugee
    - Indian migrated to other country


    Number of attempts :


    - General - 4
    - OBC - 7
    - SC / ST - No restriction


    So dude these are the minimum requirements for Ips besides these you must also have to follow some physical standards after qualifying the written exams inorder to proceed further for more information you can go through the link www.upsc.gov.in.

    To become an IPS Officer, you have to appear in the UPSC Civil services Exams.

    This exam is held to fill posts in 24 Government departments
    IPS is one of them.

    UPSC Civil Services Exams are held in three stages: Prelims
    MAINS
    Interview

    You have to clear all the three stages and also be in the top of the merit list to get the IPS post


    Minimum eligibilty to apply for the UPSC Civil Services exams is:
    Education: Graduation pass in any stream from a recognized university
    No minimum percentage of marks is required in Graduation

    Age- Minimum 21 years
    Maximum 30 years
    OBC can apply till 33 years
    SC/ST can apply till 35 years

    • You can become an Indian police services i.e IPS officer by applying in the civil services examination conducted by UPSC.
    • For it, you need to undergo three stages which are preliminary exam, main exam and interview.
    • As per eligibility criteria, you need to have completed your graduation in any of the discipline from an recognised university.
    • There is no minimum marks required for it, so just passing graduation would also be enough.
    • The age limit stated for it is 21 years to 30 years.
    • The age relaxations is provided to the reserved category students as per notification.

    To become an IPS officer first of all you are to full fill UPSC eligibility criteria.IPS(Indian Police Service)is conducted by UPSC every this is the part of Indian CIVIL SERVICES.

    IPS Eligibility:-

    1.A graduate from the recognized University in any discipline can write IPS examination.

    2.Age: general: 21-30 years , relaxations for OBC: 3 years, S/C S/T: 5 years, PWD: 10 years.

    3.Nationality: Indian.

    4.Attempts: General: 4 attempts, OBC & PH: 7 attempts, S/C S/T&WD: No limit

    Having these qualities you can apply for UPSC conducted IPS entrance exam.

    **To get selection you are to clear preliminary/Mains /physical/medical examinations then interview.
