It is simple to apply for bank entrance exams. You have to apply online. But before you start filling up the application forum you have to pay certain deposit to that particular bank.Surmise that you want to apply for PO.First, you have to pay some amount to that bank to get transaction id and journal no,branch name & code. After getting it you could apply.Once you applied, you would get password & registration id for future reference.Do not forget to take the hard copy of your online application forum.
To get update for bank jobs or any other job, subscribe Employment news every week. You would get everything there.
There are so,many books for bank entrance exams but it depends on you which book is ideal for you.few books are,S.L.Gulati for PO,SBI books for PO & Clerk.
Best of luck for your future.

Re: How to apply for banking entrance exam? What are the books to referred?

If you want to apply in the banks entrance exam then you have to give the exam of IBPS which take the written test for the PO and Clerical Exam. The following banks are associated with the IBPS which accept the written score card of the IBPS for create the merit list of the candidates.

Banks which accept the IBPS score card are given below:
    Allahabad Bank Indian Overseas Bank
Andhra Bank Oriental Bank of Commerce
Bank of Baroda Punjab National Bank
Bank of India Punjab & Sind Bank
    Bank of Maharashtra Syndicate Bank
    Canara Bank UCO Bank
Central Bank of India Union Bank of India
Corporation Bank United Bank of India
    Dena Bank Vijaya Bank
    Indian Bank

These banks not take the further written test whenever they recruit in the further for the either Clerical or PO post. They use the IBPS score card to select the students and those selected students will go for the further banks recruitment procedure like GD and Personnel Interview.

Here I also want to say that the IBPS kept minimum educational qualification while taking the test. So, its not sure that your eligibility will be complete in all the above banks. Means that if you qualify the written exam of IBPS then check your eligibility in all the above banks whenever they recruit for the PO and Clerical Post and then apply in that banks like educational qualification because IBPS kept minimum education qualification.

And IBPS score card is valid only for one year.

Syllabus for Clerical and PO Exam and Books:
    1. Reasoning Aptitude (Refer R.S. AGGARWAL)
    2. Quantitative Aptitude (Refer R.S. AGGARWAL)
    3. Computer Awareness (Refer Computer Bible - And study only fundamental portion)
    4. Marketing Aptitude
    5. English Comprehension (Any Books - Note Only qualify the test. Its marks not include in the merit list)
    6. Gerneral Knowledge (Any Books)

All the above syllabus are complete for both the clerical and po exam.

    Best of luck
