see dear there is nothing of scope each field is same at its level .. mechanical and softwARE are long life fields which ever u do u have scope...
because now we are life in computerised as well as machined era so both have a lot of scope
Both the fields have their own pros and cons. As mech is an evergreen field and computer is relatively new but fast emerging filed of engg but there is no limit in terms of opportunities and package in both the trade.
This is true that computer profession offers comparatively higher initial salary as well as hike but it is stagnant after a fixed point. On the other hand mech grads get lower packages but there is endless opportunities after certain years of exp and expertise in the field.
The conclusion would be that one should opt for the field which he enjoys and money/growth has never been a constraint for talented people.
undoubtedly mechanical... software engineer is confined to only software but a mechnical engineer can either become a software engineer or jump into core field.but the pay packages are more for a software engineer. moreover a mechnical engineer finds jobs in almost all sectors either private or govt. the chances for a software engineeer are less.
gail,BHEL,ONGC.NTPC, SAIL.NALCO NPCIL, NMDC etc... recruits mainly mech grads

Both the fields are good.We can't say which one is good which one is bad. Both the courses have their own speciality. The mechanical field is totally core side where as software is belongs to totally computer field. And also both the fields provide the high salary packages. In which field you have interested choose that one.For pursuing in good colleges and searching jobs related to above courses visit the below mentioned websites1.www.minglebox.com2.www.freshersworld.com
hi
dear friend both fields play an important role in their respective industries..it all depends on ur interest..as per my view is concerned then the software field has more money then mechanical field but u will easily find aGOVT job in the Mechanical field as there is great demand of mechanical engineers in Arm, Railways.
just select ur field of interest & u will definately excel in that
hi friend..! there is nothing like a particular job is better and the other is not.. it depends upon the individual whether he is interested in doing the job or not.. both the streams that u have posted are quite good. they both have their own responsibilities. so, choose that in which u r interested but not that u get good package.. if u work for that which gives self satisfaction that itself makes u happy with what u r getting...
hi friend, there is no important which field have more scope imp is that what you like. mechanical & software both have scope.
hi....its better to do job in mechanical side its a good job for best hardworker...there is no consistency in software..so better to show interest in mechanical..
hello friend , both the fields mechanical as well as software engineering have better future , you can choose any of the field both the fields have jobs in both govt. as well as private sector . and the salary package is also good.

The application areas of Software engineering is limited but Mechanical engineering field is evergreen.but software engineering field have more demand in abroad.Due to limited areas of Software field had slowly down,If you are focusing in field then good salary enumeration and best facility provided by various companies.
Regards
Nikhil
according to me mechanical is better to getting good job and growth because it is evergreen branch in engg in future and at this time and i want ti tell u according to your intrest thank u
Ya friend you think very well , software engineering is better than mechanical engineering , because there is lot of scope for s/w engineer than mech. engineer.
Hi....
Both the field have good scope Mechenical as well as Software engineering...
IT Engineers can getb a good and reputated job in Companies like- Infosys, TCS, Accenture, Wipro etc
While Mechenical engineers can work as a Auto ACD software engineer, in companies like Mahindra, Ashok layland etc..
Bothe branches have good future in near future...
HI,
Mechanical is better as compared with software engineering, but you have more opportunities in private sector for software engineer. If you have good communication skills and technical knowledge then you can get good job in software companies. You have to do hard work for software jobs.
But mechanical jobs are some what easy compare with IT jobs. and also you are having government job opportunities in mechanical field
All the best
I will suggest you to opt for Software field.it has a lot of scope.
With the rise in technology use and advancement in it , there is a lot of scope in this sector.
You will straight away get a high salary package and you won't have much field work to do.
GOOD LUCK

frankly speaking both the streams of enginnering have got its own role to be played in the individual aspects of employment aswell as higher education.if you are a mechanical student and only if you are really good at your concepts and subjects you can get placed in a core company if you go by the campus recruitments ,that doesn't mean that software education has got no power, no in case of software technologies its like a vast field that would fetch you the subject line of your choice at the same time something connected to the software line,so you can do something related to your field despite being in a software area.....
Its not better to first enter in some fields and after some time choose another field. In this way you will not well experienced persons either in any field. Choose any one field and focus there only and do some other courses related to that field because if you change time to time your field you will be not settle in life. Both field are better but you think in which field you can show your aptitude more.
the software and mechanical were two quite opposite fields to be grown up...
the software life is with high salaries and the courses like .net,c,c++,java,oracle languages to be learns...the path software was grown up easily but we fave to face peak time in the times of rescission.the salaries to be paid software were high..
coming to mechanical department the type of life path was very some what difficult but after attaining the degree in hand you had the better future...If we got placed in the core company like bhel,ongc,ntpc...the life cycle will change the way we are..
the main thing is the software candidate can apply for only software jobs, but a mech students with the talent he can apply to software jobs too..
both are the better fields to grow..choose the better one as your interest, keep in mind about he competitive world ane rescission...
good luck
both field have good scope but that is depend upon you and you skills also your academic performance every field have scope it is upon us that how we use it if you do well in any field the you get good salary package and also good promotion you go in any field. but as i know about the tend you go in mechanical field day by day the mechanical scope is becoming wide and wide as compare to the software so according to me you go to the mechanical field and do well there you get good scope.
best of luck
software field contain more opportunities because many it companies are present here for various type of jobs.
mechanical engineers have good opportunities but relatively low in number by comparing with software field.it also contain government jobs.
well the world does not work dat way ....u cant swap ur job until u got separate degrees for both the fields ...mechanical field is having a real firm basis in india ....but ill suggest u to go with the software field bcoz that thing my frnd is on a huge boom dese days .....this year google tuk a student of engineering cse on a package of 80 lakh p.a. from bangalore ...microsoft is coming for its recruitment drive this month in cgc landran with a package of 16 lakh p.a. ...
whereas if u go for mechanical u dont have enough choices to go for ....its coz every firm needs a it infrastructure .....but yes if u get a job in mechanical field in india ur future my frnd is more safer than anyone .......
Both the fields mechanical and software engineering are good and both are providing high salary offers. To get placed in top companies you should maintain good academics percentage and good communication skills. For finding jobs related these two fields visit the links 1.www.freshersworld.com 2.www.freejobalert.com 3.www.naukri.com 4.www.timesofjobs.com 5.www.freshersplane.com Candidate should have minimum 60 percentage in all academics.
SCOPE BETWEEN ME & CSE.....
Now-a-days in all the field computers are being used and in Mechanical field also computer used with similar strategy...
Mechanical engineering means which we can work in machines which will be effective and we could not develop any knowledge in that machine and there is no stuff in Some companies if they recruited you....
In CSE the Candidates should want to update day-2-day norms and follow that rules that is the well developed area in this world.....The best thinker and more stuff who are having i this world is to be as Computer Stream Candidates...
So, There is an big scope in CSE and they will provide high package and offer some extra activities and some growth will be taken during that working session....
THINK AND DO YOUR BEST>>>>>>>>>>
Both Fields are Master in their own way. But i would prefer mechanical because its Evergreen, No Crisis, inflation, recession can effect it. This is the major difference between them. Software Engineer have to be updated.
best of luck

Engineering grads of other packages, but the endless opportunities and expertise in the field exp is a few years later.
D, such as engineers, companies - Infosys, TCS, Accentuate, Wipro is a good and reputed job get
Engineers Mechanical Mahindra, Ashok layland in such institutions, can work as an auto ACD software engineer.
Both the branches near future a better future ... Mechanical software engineering is relatively good, but the more likely you are a software engineer in the private sector. If you have good communication skills and technical knowledge, software companies, you can get a good job. Software jobs you have to work hard.
What are some relatively easy job but the machine work. Is the work of the Department of Mechanical

Good job opportunities are available in software engineering, mechanical engineering, I course. But you think you can get a good job.
Software Engineering and Mechanical Engineering courses are totally different from each other.
I go to your own decision, you may want to suggest, be sure that you can go very well.
Govt. In the current world ... you can then compete engineering in streams, both of you more education.if work and personal aspects of playing its own role and got touched by a mechanical student and you're on campus recruitments through if you're a major company can make your ideas and lessons are good only if, the software technologies in the case, the software education, which .
Life is high wages and software courses. Net, C, C + +, Java, Oracle will have to learn languages ... What are the most difficult path to the engine department, but you had a good future after graduating from the hand ... We BHEL, ONGC, NTPC, if such was to keep the company ... We only have to change the life cycle ..
Candidates can apply for jobs only software software main thing, but the talent he has a lot of software Engineering students can apply for jobs ..
hi,
dear friend ,
see every field has its own importance but if you want to know between mechanical and software , then definately in india mechanical engineers are in high demand , and as per future is concern thir is a job boom for mechanical as well as electronics engineers , in india if you are a software engineer then you have not much scope but if you go to foreign countries ,like U.S,U.K etc than you find that in those countries their is a high demand of software engineers ... so, all depends on you what you want to do .......
all the best.......................
First of all i would like to tell you that both the fields have a wide scope all over the world.
It only depends on your interests and aspirations.Personally being in the IT field i would favour the software sector.
If you want to pursue a career in management i would strongly advice you to take up computer engineering
On the other hand if you want a safe and secure government job i would recommend you the mechanical field s the number of vacancies for it jobs in govt sector is very less.
You should also see the work aspects of the IT job as it can be monotonous to some people.
There are hundreds of thousands of jobs in both IT and mechanical sectors.
IT Software cos:
Microsoft
Yahoo
Adobe
Infosys
Cognizant
Accenture
Tata Consultancy Services etc
Mechanical Cos:
BHEL
SAIL
L n T
Honeywell
General Motors
Godrej
Whirlpool and the list goes on.
I would forewarn you that mechanical can be a little difficult to follow.
Dear friend
both branches have good future. it is clear that package will be higher in software engineer. But software eng. have less govt. jobs than mechanical. A mechanical engineer have too many options and it fits in many fields. So know you can choose what is best for you.
Good luck.
mechanical as being a core stream it has always greater job aspect as compared to software engineering. there is no sen-sex down hazard for such engineers. it is always an evergreen section and always be. after completing the course you can go for the following reputed sectors:
1.HAL
2.BHEL
3.SAIL
4.RAIL
7.DVC
8.NTPC
9.MTPS
10.DRDO
11.PPT
12.INDIAN SHIPPING ENGINEERS
13.INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE
14.BSNL
15.MTNL
16.COAL INDIA
17.TATA STEEL
18.INDIAN MINING CORPORATION
19.L&T INFRASRUCTURES
20.ASHOKE LAYLAND
so all the best.
Hi Buddy,
Both are very good and have equal opportunities, but as you have mentioned about packages then one must admit the fact that software engineers start with a basic package of 25000/- per month if placed in a good reputed IT company, whereas mechanical engineers couldn't get a such high package, but after a few years of experience you can definitely expect to get a salary around 45000/- per month if placed in a good public sector organizations.
It is really a tough question to answer whether you can go to software field from mechanical just because your not getting good opportunities at the moment. Yes if you have done some software courses and learnt a few languages as backup then you can try out for Software jobs, but you must work really hard to continue in the field as lot of people loose their jobs based on lack of performance and some times unluckily in recession period.
As you have mentioned the main objective of an individual must be to secure a good job in which ever field he might apply, but he must also take care of the fact that his job must continue in a longer run providing him good name and fame rather than getting struck between two different fields after 10 years of starting his career.
If you want to go for software be sure that you must have knowledge about the courses and languages, domains, etc.... if not wait for the right job in the field of mechanical.
All the best.
@ S.Venkateshwarulu
Both branches are very good in their own manner. Mechanical engineering is a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of physics and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
Computer science is one of the branch of study and this branch of study has great prospects of jobs and also it is the professional Study course,Career in computer science is considered as one of the most high paying jobs.It has full time career opportunities in the present world.Computer science engineering mainly deals with programming, testing, coding.
If you have interest in maths and machines then you should go for mechanical. In mechanical you will get to know about working of engines, gear box, refrigeration, boilers etc. After doing mechanical your options will be open you can go designing field, where you have to design new models of cars, buses.
Comapnies like Tata motors,Forbes Marshal,FMC,Hindustan lever give chances to mechanical students.
While in computer you have to work on computer application, have to develop product software, application software. You will study about OS,programming languages like C,C++,Java, networking etc.YOu can choose one of them and can work in that field. You will get good salary.
Companies like TCS,Cognizant,MIcrosoft,Google hire software engineer.
So both branches are evergreen, you can choose anyone, decision should be your's.
Dear Friend,
Obviously Mechanical engineering is the best option as there are vast opportuinities in this feild as compared to Software engineering. Also you will find lots of opening in Government sector as well for mechanical engineers.
So all the best....
Both the fields have a lot of scope..both in India and in the foreign countries provided you have potential in you
I will discuss the advantages and scope of each of these branch separately one by one
Mechanical engineering is one of the core engineering stream and opportunities are aplenty in this field.if you are an IIT or NIT graduate, then you will get high paid jobs while campussing in the final year of your course. even if you are from some private college, you will get opportunities for good job. You know very well that industrialization has a great progress in India and so the demand for Mechanical engineers has risen to a great extent. in almost every city and towns of India, there is rapid industrialization, building of roads, brides, skyscrapers, flyovers and other big projects. in all these projects mechanical engineers are needed and so you will find jobs in both GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE SECTOR
private companies like SIMPLEX etc hire mechanical engineers for their constructional projects and give them good salary with high incentives
foreign companies ...especially based in Dubai and America also hire a lot of mechanical engineers each and every year.... Hence there is unlimited scope in this field
well the modern age is totally technology dependent and the greatest professional sector is the IT(INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY) sector which hires the majority of the the people involved in service and business activities.Computer engineering is the heart of IT. if you are a computer engineer you can get job in any software company. you can even specialize in various parts of computer science such as hacking, programming, software developing, web page developing etc and join the IT companies as experienced special technician. in India you can get jobs in companies like WIPRO, TCS, CTS, KREETI TECH etc.
these companies pay good salary with good incentives and bonus to their employees
after a few years work experience you can try for foreign companies based in USA, UK,CANADA , AUSTRALIA etc and if you manage to get a job there, you will get salary more than rs.250000 per month easily.but you need to have the potential and you have to deliver your best
so now you can decide on which field you are good at or where you can give your best effort and performance
based on that you can choose either of the streams
ALL THE BEST!!!
it mainly depends upon the college from where you are doing your engineering and second your interest level.
but now a days it can be said that software engineering has the better scope than mechanical if you are eyeing an MNC.
but mechanical too is an evergreen branch and it has always an scope.
this comparison between mechanical and software engineering is all depend or the choice of person that if he/she likes to have field work or simply have to enjoy the ac environment in office.actually software engineer is having high salary than mechanical engineer as for software engineer his brain is the machine for there company but for mechanical engineer the company has to spend its expenditure for the maintenance of machine from which they are having there production and because of this mechanical engineer is paid low by the company.so by wages wise software engineering is more preferable.
Talking about money, Software engineer is better, but with more experience mechanical will be good.
If your luck is good than you should try software company, because you can't say, when is the booming time of computers.
But mechanical is evergreen.
All the best.
see , both the jobs are good .
as you are from mechncial engineering , it is somewhat better for you to go for core jobs in different companies like ,
bhel
bsnl
iocl
mtnl
transco
zenco
sail
gail
ntpc , etc. .
your salary package will also be good in core companies .
but , if you want to settle in your life , fastly then it is good for you to go for i.t. job
if you have morethan 60% then you can go for walkins of different companies like ,
infosys
wipro
dell
accenture
mahindra satyam , etc. .
as your experice is been increasing , then you will get more salary than as an mechanical engineer .

as far as the branches are concerned mechanical engineering has always first priority. as it is a core stream and core stream does not fall whether it is a period of recession or not. but software engineering has a bad effect because of recssion.
the mechanical engieers have always the best job opportunities through out the world.
after completing the course you will be eligible for the following companies:
