No, you are not eligible to do LLB after your Engineering.

To do LLB Degree, generally CLAT Exam is given by the candidates.

CLAT stands for Common Law Admission Test.

    Eligibility for Under-Graduate Programmes:

To be eligible to appear in CLAT-2013, a candidate should have obtained a Senior Secondary School/Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Board with not less than 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of SC/ST/OBC and PWD).

Age of candidate should not be more than 20 years in case of General/OBC candidates (22 years in case of SC/ST and persons with Disability)

    Eligibility for Post-Graduate Programmes:

To be eligible for appearing in CLAT-2013, a candidate should have obtained a LL.B/B.L. Degree or an equivalent degree from a recognized University with not less than 55% marks in aggregate (50% in case of SC/ST /OBC and persons with Disability).

So, as per the above mentioned criteria, you are not eligible for both under graduate and post graduate courses.

Re: Engineering degree holder is eligible for LLB?

Here you said that you have done engineering now you also asked for that if you can do LLB. I do not understand that why you want to go for the LLB. If you was interested n the LLB then you must go for the before doing the engineering. After the engineering you must go for the graduation on the LLB then you should go for the master on the LLB.on thr

It does not mean that i am saying you to not to go for it but according to me you should stay on the your trade. But as you asked that if you can go for it so i like to say that you can go if you have 50% over all marks then you can apply for the Master on the LLB.

But i think you have a huge difficulty to study as you are form the engineering background and you want to enter the LAW section with out having any knowledge on the LAW as you are not for the LAW background. But if you will cope up with this then you wil be able to over come it. It mainly depends on you.

But according to my opinion you must go for the M.tech or the MBA. Now it is your own decision what you want to do in your life.

All the best for your future.

    Hi friend,

According to your qualifications you are not eligible for LLB exam.
To write this exam you must have 12th standard in any stream in any recognized college and the age limit of 16-20 years for General and age relaxation is provided as per ruels
    2 years for Sc/St candidates.
You should be citizen of India

To do a post graduate programme you should have any degree with more than 55% of marks

    Thank you...

Re: Engineering degree holder is eligible for LLB?

yes, you are eligible for LLB because any student who have completed his/her graduation with atleast 50% marks is eligible for the course.
SUGGESTION : I don't know how you have got attracted for the LLB course after doing B.tech, If LLB is your Passion then surly go for it BUT it will create a very big problem for you to manage this course for you being from a technical background till now.. So, its better if you choose M.tech or MBA for your higher education....
See final decision is yours only... but take a good decision which will make your future bright......

    heyy
According to your qualifications you are not eligible for the CLAT. You cannot get admission in any NLU's because for that you have to clear the CLAT exam. But dont worry you can still get the LLb degree after Btech from some other universities. You just need to have 55% in your 10+2 boards or the equivalent exams. You can get the LLb degree as you are a graduate. You are eligible for the degree but not through CLAT.

    hi dear,
To do LLB you need to have a graduation degree.
And B.tech is itself an graduation degree course.
So yes be tension free that you can appear for LLB entrance exam and get into a law college.
The other graduation degrees that you can do and follow it with a LLB degree are
    B.Com
    B.B.A
    BA
    B.Sc
Also the law exam is CLAT and other deemed universities conduct their own exam by which you can also get into any law college in India.
