    Eligibility, number of attempts and knowledge for AFCAT?

    sir,myself pursuing BE -mech.Now in 6sem .1. m i eligible for afcat ,?2. also want to know how many attempts one cn get for afcat?3. also is der eng.knowlege test for afcat or only nontechnical test for afcatplz do help me i'm also too much confuse whether to go for GATE or AFCAT

    Good that you want to join the AIR FORCE and want to serve for the nation. If you have no pride for your country then you can not serve for your country. Here you asked that you are on prefinal year and if you are eligible to apply for the AIR FORCE or not. Here i am giving you the full details of the Air force eligibility so you will under stand better.

    Eligibility:

    Candidate must have to pass the 10th 12th or equivalent form the recognized university with 60% marks. Candidate also have to passed the graduation required discipline like electronics, aeronautical , mechanical etc with 60% marks form the recognized university.

    Candidate on the prefinal year also eligible to apply for the post.

    There are three post one if flying branch second one is technical branch and third one is ground duty.

    AGE limit:

    For the graduates age limit is 20 to 23 years
    For the post graduates 20 to 25 years
    For LLB 20 to 26 years
    For the M.Ed /Phd 20 to 27 years.

    Height : Min 157.5 Cm

    For applying you have to apply on the online basis on the site www.careerairforce.nic.in

    if you want to go for the GATE you also can go after the M.Tech you can join the airforce also. So it is mainly depends on you want to do now. But according to me you must go for the GATE and the M.Tech then for a job if you have no finical problem.

    How many Times can we take AFCAT exam if not qualified for sevaral attempts ?

    You can aply for the AFCAT exams as many times as you want till the time you meet the eligibilty criteria.
    There is no limit to number of attempts

    AFCAT exams are conducted for:
    >> Flying Branch
    >> Technical Branch
    >> Ground Duty Branch

    Eligibilty criteria to apply for these are:

    Flying Branch: Graduates with minimum 60% marks and should ahve studied Physics and Maths as subjects in class 12th or BE/BTECH
    Age should be between 19 to 23 years

    Technical Branch: BE/BTECH pass with minimum 60% marks
    Age should be between 18 to 28 years

    Ground Duty Branch: Graduates with minimum 60% marks
    Age should be between 19 to 23 years

    AFCAT(Air Force Common Admission Test) is conducted for recruitment of candidates to 3 wings namely :-

    > Flying Branch

    > Technical Branch

    > Ground Duty Branch

    Eligibility for the 3 branches are as follows :-

    For Flying Branch :-
    > Bachelor's degree or B.E/B.Tech in any stream from a recognized institution with 60%
    marks including all the subjects..
    > Age should not be less than 19 years and should not be more than 23 years..

    For Technical Branch :-
    > Age should be within the range of 18-28 years..
    > Applicant should have a B.E/B.Tech degree in any trade from a recognized University..

    For Ground Duty Branch :-
    > Age limit for graduates - 20-23 years
    > For post graduates - 20-25 years
    > Graduates must have secured 60% in their graduation
    > post graduates should have secured a minimum of 50 % in their masters degree..

    The syllabus for AFCAT:-

    1.General Awareness.

    2.Verbal Ability in English

    3.Numerical Ability.

    4.Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test.

    There is different branches:-

    1.Ground duty branches.

    2.Flying branch.

    3.Technical branch

    AFCAT Eligibility :-

    1.Ground Duty Branch : The candidate who wish to apply for this should between 20 - 27 yrs,then the candidates have the pg or bachelor degree in any subject with at least 60%.

    2.Flying Branch : The applicant should have a minimum 19 - 23 yrs.The candidate must have the B.E/B.Tech degree or graduate in any disciplane with the minimum 60%.

    3.Technical Branch : For this,the candidate should have 18 - 28 years of age and should have done Aeronanutical Engineering with minimum 60%marks.


    4.Physical Standard :Height for Men Should be 157.5 cm and for Women 152 cm.
