Re: Eligibility for NET or SET exam having 52% in M.com?

    hi there,

As mentioned by you that you got 52% in PG. Now it depends upon your category to which you belong.. If you belong to General Category then for giving NET/SET exam you must have scored 55% minimum in PG. But if you belong to SC/ST category then there is a chance for you as for them minimum required percentage is 50% in PG.

Hope your query has been resolved now...

    All the very best!

Re: Eligibility for NET or SET exam having 52% in M.com?

    Dear..

First of all let me tell you about NET, then NET stands for National Aptitude test and it is a exam conducted twice in a year to give eligibility to the candidate to teach at various teaching posts in colleges as well as in Universities. NET score are valid for one year and if you manage to get a job in this time then its okay otherwise your scores will be perished.

Eligibility for NET is as follows :-

Candidate must be a post graduate candidate
Candidate must have done his post graduate from a recognized college
Candidate must have 55% or more in its post graduation
Candidate should be 28 years or less for the exam
    No subject preference
Reservation is their for reserved category candidate

So as it is mentioned here that 55% are necessary to sit for net exam and hence you are not eligible but if you belong to SC or ST community then you will be eligible as they get 5% relaxation in the percentage required column.

    Hope it will help

    Cheers...!!!

    • NET is an National eligibility test which is conducted by the university grant commission every year.
    • As per the qualification requirement, you need to have completed the post graduate course from an recognised university and with having a minimum 55% marks.
    • If you are from an reserved category i.e sc/st and physical handicapped students then you must have 50% marks.
    • So, you can apply for this examination if you are from an reserved category.
    • There is no upper age limit to appear for lectureship and upper age limit for 28 years for JRF.

NO, you cannot apply for the UGC-NET exams.

The reason being that you have scored less that 55% marks in your Post Graduation.

NET exams are being held for:
    >> Lectureship
    >> JRF

Eligibilty to apply for the UGC-NET exams is:
    Post Graduation pass
Minimum 55% marks in Post Graduation for the General and OBC candidates
Minimum 50% marks for the SC/ST candidates
