The eligibility criterion for IIT-JEE exam is given below-

>>>Candidate must be a 12th appearing or 12th passed candidate in science stream from a recognized board.

>>>Candidate must have studies physics , chemistry and maths as a subject in 12th.

>>>Candidate must have passed 12th with minimum 60% marks in 12th and 60% marks in PCM subject.
For OBC candidates the required PCM score in 60%.
For SC/ST candidates the required PCM score in 50%.

so if you are a general category student , then you are not eligible for the IIT-JEE exam.

If you are SC/ST candidate , then you are eligible for the exam.

If you are belong to SC/ST candidates, then you are eligible, otherwise you are not eligible to appear in IIT JEE exams.


Minimum Percentage of Marks in 12th exams, Candidates belonging to GE, OBC must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate in their QE.


Whereas, those belonging to SC, ST and PD categories must secure at least 55% marks in aggregate in the Final exams.


If you have clear your 12th examination from a recognised Board, then you are eligible to appear in IIT JEE exams.


But, make sure that, you can appear in the Joint Entrance Exam two times only.


And, if you have give your Final examination, only then you are eligible for IIT JEE exams.

then i am sorry to say but you are not eligible for IIT JEE

eligibility for IIT is given below;

for general
candidate must be 12th passed from a recognised university with minimum of 60% in PCM
candidate appearing for exam are also eligible

for sc/st
candidate must be 12th passed or appearing for the final exam with minimum of 50% in PCM

so if you belong to SC/ST
then you are surely eligible

As you have not mentioned your category . i mean you belongs to GE, OBC , sc st or something else. so
If you havescored minimum 60% marks in your 12th exams, only then you are eligible for IIT JEE exams. Because for general

Dear aspirant,
If you are general, then I am sorry to say that, you are not eligible to appear in IIT-JEE but if you are SC/ST/OBC then you can appear in IIT-JEE.
Because, for General at least 60% marks of XII Board is required to appear in IIT-JEE while for other backward castes it is at least 55%.

You are not eligible for iitjee 2013 if you belong to General category or OBC category as your PCM percentage is 59.6% less than minimum percentage required.And if you belong the SC or ST category then eligible to appear for iitjee 2013.
You can apply for other engineering exams like AIEEE or VIT etc.

sir,the eligibilty criteria for getting into IIT is to have minimum of 60% in aggregate in 10+2 and 60% in PCM for general category,and for OBC/SC/ST it is 50% in PCM,
so if you are from general category,you are no eligible and if you are from SC/ST/OBC you are eligible for it.

No you are not eligible for the exam because you don't fulfill the eligibility criteria for the exam .
The criteria for the exam is below :
-> one should pass the 12th with PCM subjects and got minimum 60% marks for general and obc catagory , 55% for SC/ST catagory from any recognized university .
-> Overall 12th marks will be minimum 60% for general and obc catagory , 55% for SC/ST
-> age must be between 17-25 .
-> there are only 2 attempts are allowed to any candidate

now , as you have not mentioned your caste then if you are a general/OBC categorised student then you cant apply for IIT-JEE exam but if you are a SC/ST/PH student then you are fully eligible for IIT-JEE .
as the ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR IIT -JEE as follows :-

1. you must be an INDIAN .
2. you must be appearing /have passed 12 exam with min. 60 % if you are a general /OBC candidate.

it is sorry to say that if your the general candidate than you are not eligible for iit-jee exam for the pcm of your 59.6%.but if you are belonging from the sc or oter caste than you are eligible for the exam..because those caste has some relaxation as per as govt rule..
so if you are not eligible you can try for other engineering straem..good luck();

if you belong to General category or OBC category as your PCM percentage is 59.6% less than minimum percentage required.

And if you belong the SC or ST category then eligible to appear for iitjee 2013.

You can apply for other engineering exams like AIEEE or VIT etc.
