The eligibility criterion for IIT-JEE exam is given below-
>>>Candidate must be a 12th appearing or 12th passed candidate in science stream from a recognized board.
>>>Candidate must have studies physics , chemistry and maths as a subject in 12th.
>>>Candidate must have passed 12th with minimum 60% marks in 12th and 60% marks in PCM subject.
For OBC candidates the required PCM score in 60%.
For SC/ST candidates the required PCM score in 50%.
so if you are a general category student , then you are not eligible for the IIT-JEE exam.
If you are SC/ST candidate , then you are eligible for the exam.

If you are general, then I am sorry to say that, you are not eligible to appear in IIT-JEE but if you are SC/ST/OBC then you can appear in IIT-JEE.
Because, for General at least 60% marks of XII Board is required to appear in IIT-JEE while for other backward castes it is at least 55%.
