    Eligibility criteria of UPSC IAS exam for B.Com passed candidate with 51% from Bharathiar University distance education?

    Sir
    I am a B.Com graduate in Bharathiar University Distance Education.
    I have completed my graduation with (48 46 62) Over all percentage is 51%.
    I am a SC Candidate. So, If am eligible for UPSC IAS Exam?

    You are eligible for IAS as candidates must have graduation from recognized university in any subject.you can select any two subjects but following combinations are not allowed-

    1 Statics and maths

    2 any two branches of engineering

    3 commerce and management

    4 management and public relations

    5 agriculture and biology

    6 Animal husbandry and medical sciences.

    7 any two literature.

    Yes, you can apply for the UPSC Civil Services Exams.

    Next UPSC Prelims Exams will be held on 19th MAY 2013
    Notifications for this exam will come out on 2nd February 2013
    Last date to apply is 4th March 2013


    Educational Qualifications: Graduation Pass in any stream

    AGE- Minimum 21 years for all the candidates
    Maximum 30 years for the General Candidates
    Candidates belonging to OBC gets 3 years and SC/ST gets 5 years age relaxations

    Number of Attempts- General candidates- 4 times
    OBC- 7 times
    SC/ST- No such restriction

    Yes, you are eligible for the IAS Exam.

    Only graduation from recognized university is needed, no specific percentage is required.

    And as you belong to SC Category, you will be having age relaxation and also you dont have any restriction in the number of attempts for exam.

    Eligibility conditions are as follows:

    Educational qualification:


    Any degree from recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

    Age Criteria:

    Minimum: 21 years

    Maximum: 30 years

    Upper age relaxation for reserved category candidates is as follows:

    3 years for OBC.

    5 years for SC/ST

    10 years for PWD & Ex service-men.

    Exam Pattern :

    Preliminary exam

    Main exam

    Interview



    Number of attempts:

    General category- 4

    OBC - 7

    There is no limit for SC/ST.

    Next UPSC Civil services Preliminary exam is on 19-05-2013.

    Date of Notification: 02-02-2013.

    Last date for receipt of application: 04-03-2013.
