    YES, a software engineer can appear in CSAT exams.

    CSAT is the first stage of the UPSC Civil services Exams

    If you are a Graduate in any stream you can apply for the CSAT
    No minimum marks is asked in Graduation

    Age should be between 21 and 30 years
    General candidates are given 4 attempts at CSAT exams

    In the CSAT exams athere are two appers
    Both these appers are common for all the candidates

    Syallabus for CSAT papers:

    Paper 1:
    Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
    Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights
    Issues, etc.
    History of India and Indian National Movement.
    Economic and Social Development Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics,
    Social Sector initiatives, etc.
    General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require
    subject specialization.
    General Science.

    Paper 2
    Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) Data
    interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc.
    English Language Comprehension skills
    Decision-making and problem-solving
    Comprehension
    Logical reasoning and analytical ability
    Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
    General mental ability

    Yes, you can eligible for this exam.

    CSAT stands for CIVIL SERVICE APTITUDE TEST.

    And this exam conducted by UPSC twice in a year to recruit the civil posts like ias, ips

    Eligibility Criteria ::: -
    You must be INDIAN
    You must complete your graduation from any recognised university.
    You must be in between 21 - 30 years.
    For OBC candidate 3years age relaxation is there .
    For SC / ST candidates 5Years age relaxation is there.

    Syllabus ;

    Indian economoics, geography, politics, indian constitution, rights of the peoples, panchayathiraj, and language skills, basic numerous skills, englosh grammer skills, interpritationskills etc……… ..

    The Civil Services of the Government of India are amongst the most prestigious jobs in the country and more than four to five hundred thousand people apply for it every year.

    Age limit : 21 and 30 years

    Paper Pattern for CSAT:

    -CSAT two objective type papers. Each paper carries 200 marks in two hours.
    -Both papers have only multiple choice questions and also negative marking. Unanswered questions do not have any penalty.
    -The papers will be set only in Hindi and English.
    -Paper I tests the General Knowledge of candidates and Paper II tests aptitude of the candidates.
    -Both the papers have different cut-off marks and the candidates are required to perform well in both

    2.Interpersonal skills including communication skills
    3.Logical reasoning and analytical ability

    CSAT(Civil Service Aptitude Test) is a test conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission).
    This exam is conducted to select the candidates for Civil Service Main Exams.

    Eligibility Criteria:-
    You should be citizen of India and should have attain the age of 21 years and should not have attain the max age of 30 years as on 1st August of exam year.
    Sc/St:- 35 years
    Ph:- 40 years

    As you have asked about educational qualifications:-
    you should have completed your Bachelor or Master degree in any stream from recognized college is eligible for this exam
    Being a final year candidate can also apply
    No Minimum Percentage Criteria

    Eligibility:-

    1.Only Indian candidates r Eligible.

    2.Candidate must have complete graduation in any Discipline from a recognize University.

    3.The age is between 21 to 30 years on 1st August.
    Final year graduation candidate can also apply for CSAT.

    Fee:-

    A candidate appearing for the exam will have to pay a fee of Rs 50. Female candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH categories are exempted from paying any fee.

    Attempts:-

    1.For General category - 4 attempts.

    2.For SC/ST category - No limits.

    3.For OBC category - 7 attempts.

    CSAT or Civil Services Aptitude Test is also called as Preliminary Exam. It is the first stage to crack IAS Exam that is commenced by UPSC.


    To become IAS , IPS, IRS , IFS officer you have to qualify a process of examination starting from the CSAT(civil services aptitude test).




    Actually there as three stages to crack Civil Services Exam,


    >> Preliminary Exam

    >> Mains Exam

    >> Personal Interview





    Eligibility:


    - You must be a citizen of India.

    - You must have a age limit of 21-30 years of age.

    - You must have finished their degree from a recognized university.

    - You can apply for the exam while doing their final degree exams.



    Number of Attempts :


    - Four Attempts for General candidates

    - Seven attemps for OBCs Candidates

    - No limit for SCs/STs

    Dear if you are a software engineering graduate candidate then you are eligible to apply for Indian Civil Service Examination because minimum required qualification for CSAT is to be a graduate in any stream from a recognized university. Candidate should not have attained the age of 30 years as on 1st if January of the concerned year as - 01-01-2014 for upcoming CSAT examination. 5 years upper age relaxation for candidates belonging to SC or ST or Ex-Servicemen Category and 3 years in case of OBCs - Other Backward Classes

    Essential Note : Passing in Preliminary test is compulsory and qualifying marks for preliminary examination will be decided by the board including the marks of both papers where you do not need to pass in each paper because if your score is less in one paper and higher in one and your score is under passing criteria then you will be declared qualified in this examination. If you could not pass this test so you will be disqualified from selection process and you will have to appear again for preliminary examination in next year

    Main Examination - This is totally conventional type test which consist of 7 papers and candidates selected in prelims exam are only eligible to appear for main examination and papers are following :

    Paper I consist of 2 different sections of writing in which section I is for Essay Writing contains 200 marks and section II is for English Comprehension and Precis Writing contains 100 marks and getting qualified in both sections is compulsory

    Paper II - General Studies - Indian Culture and Heritage, History and Geography of the world and society

    Paper III - General Studies - Indian Governance, Constitution, Social Justice and International Relations, Polity

    Paper IV - General Studies - Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management

    Paper V - General Studies - Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude Ability

    Paper VI and VII - Based on Selected Optional Subjects and all these above mentioned 6 papers contains 250 marks for each where passing in all papers is mandatory

    Selection of the optional subject depends on your choice means you can choose any subject from the list and as you are a engineering stream student so you can choose any subject but must prefer engineering stream subject that are available in exam - Civil Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering
