    i am a bsc (general) student .
    i have botany.zoology and chemistry .

    YES, you are eligible for the IFS exams

    Eligibilty to apply for the Indian Forest Officer exams:
    Bachelors degree Pass.
    You should have studied at least one of the below subjects in the Bachelors Degree Level
    Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics,
    Physics, Statistics, Zoology

    or
    Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry
    Or
    BE/Btech pass

    Age- Minimum 21 years
    Maximum 30 years
    Age relaxations of 3 years is given to OBC candidates and 5 years to SC/ST candidates

    Attempts-

    Eligibility for Indian Forest Service Examination

    You must posses a degree in any one of the following disciplines from a recognized institute/ university

    Agriculture
    Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
    Botany
    Chemistry
    Engineering
    Forestry
    Geology
    Mathematics
    Statistics
    Physics
    Zoology

    Your age should not be more than 30 years and minimum age required for this exam is 21 years

    If you have completed your bachelor's degree with botany, zoology and chemistry then also you may apply for this examination because all of your subjects comes under the above mentioned list means you do not need to complete any professional or vocational degree with these subjects

    This year's IFoS Preliminary Examination has been conducted at 26th of May 2013 and mains examination will be conducted soon because UPSC board did not announce the dates for main examination so this year you should begin preparation for IFoS examination 2014 because you have about 1 year to complete your study and revise it once or more so you should use this time in preparing for this examination and you should get good command over any two subjects of your degree because you will have to select any two subjects for four different papers in main examination and that will decide your final selection so you need to cover the entire syllabus mentioned in the attached notification with all other details please download and for previous years question papers, you may visit at www.upsc.gov.in

    Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for appointment on Indian Forest Service (IFS)posts.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    Age Limit : Your's age should not be less than 21 yrs and not be above than 30 yrs as on 01-08-2013. Age Relaxation will be extended as per govt norms.

    Educational Qualification : Candidates should have Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of any of Universities.

    Application fee :
    General and OBC Candidates are required to pay Rs. 100 for IFS Exam 2013.
    SC/ST/PH candidates are not required to pay any fees.

    Hello friend,

    The Union Public Service commission ( UPSC) conducts Indian Forest service examination (IFS) .

    First you have to write an Indian forest service preliminary examination and after screening the candidates you can eligible to write to IFS main examination.

    EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    * The candidate must hold a bachelor's Degree with At least one of the subjects namely

    1. Animal Husbandry and Veterinary science

    2. Botany

    3. Chemistry

    4. Geology

    5. Mathematics

    6. Physics

    7. Statistics

    8. Zoology

    ->Or the candidate must hold a Bachelor degree in Agriculture or Forestry or Engineering from a recognized university or its equivalent.

    * The candidate who is studying the final year of degree can also apply with the above prescribed qualifications.

    AGE LIMIT:

    * The minimum age is 21 years and the maximum age is 30 years as on 1st July of the year of the examination.

    * The upper age limit is relaxable to certain categories

    1. For SC and ST category candidates up to a maximum of 5 years.

    2. For OBC candidates up to a maximum of 3 years.

    3. For Blind,deaf,mute and Orthopaedically candidates up to a maximum of 10 years.

    IFS stands for the Indian Forest Services .The entrance examination is conducted by the UPSC.

    The eligibility criteria for the IFS exam is as below:

    >>Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.Final year candidates can also apply for the exam.

    >>You must have studied at least one of the subjects mentioned below:

    So the age limits, number are same the other exams like IAS, IPS, IES etc

    1. All the candidates must complete Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the following subjects:

    vi. Physics
    vii. Statistics and Zoology

    Yes, with the subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Biology, you can apply for IFS exam.

    IFS – Indian Forest Services

    The exam for IFS is conducted by Union Public Service Commission, every year.

    This year Preliminary exam for IFS has already been conducted and the results are also out.

    Eligibility criteria for IFS exam ~~

    Candidate should be a graduate in –
    Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths, Statistics, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science ,MBBS,Engineering, Forestry or agriculture.

    Age of the candidate should be between 21 years to 30 years.

    Upper age is relaxed for OBC by 3 years and SC/ST category by 5 years.

    Stages of IFS exam~~


    Like other civil services exam, IFS exam is also conducted in three stages –
