IBPS Conducts the Common Written Exams for the PO post on behalf on 20 Nationalised Banks.
SBI does not participate in the IBPS CWE, but conducts its own PO exams.

Last PO exams was held on 17th June 2012 and the eligibilty was Graduation Pass
Age should be between 20 and 30 years
OBC gets 3 years age relaxation and SC/ST gets 5 years age relaxations.

Now, there is talk within IBPS nad Finance ministry of changing the eligibilty criteria for the next PO exams which will be held in 2013.
The new criteria may be Graduation pass with Minimum 60% marks.
But these things will become clearer when the next notification for the IBPS PO exams comes out.

But, if you have done your MBA with Specialization as Marketing or HR than you can sit in the IBPS CWE for the Specialist Officers.
This exam will also be conducyed next year that is in 2013

Re: Eligibility for Common PO exam?

    Friend,

SBI or RBI conducts the recruitment exam for the post of PO separately whereas, IBPS conducts
The recruitment exams for other 19 centralized banks.
Some of the common banks in these 19 centralized banks are:
    UCO Banks
    PNB
    Syndicate
    Indian Bank
    Bank of India

Please remember , based on your marks, you are eligible to write the Common Exam conducted
by IBPS, but whenever any vacancy is available in any banks, they ask for at least 55%.
SO you’ll be eligible but this cutoff marks keep on changing and it may be 60% also.

But don’t lose heart, and keep trying .

One more thing is that as you have done MBA, you can also try for Specialist officers in these banks
As well as in PSU companies like SAIL, NTPC, BHEL , BEL and many more
For PO exam, Your age should in between 20years -30years as given on a specified date given in the registration form.
Age Relaxation is also given to if you belong to any of the below category:
    SC/ST->5 years
    OBS->3 years(Non Creamy Layer)
PWD-10(Details about the criteria to be followed will be given in the form)

Re: Eligibility for Common PO exam?

According to some reliable and genuine source, there is a information that this year IBPS is going to make some major changes in the required eligibility criteria for CWE PO examination and that information making something different in this examination that is why possible eligibility criteria may be as :

Aspirant should have completed his/her bachelor's degree or 3 year or 4 year in any stream from a recognized university and also should have scored minimum 60% marks in aggregate or all years/semesters.

Should have good knowledge of working on computer systems with a degree or diploma or certificate in computer application/ science with proficiency in operation of computer systems

Age limits are also expected for this year's CWE PO examination and that may be minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years. Upper age relaxation would be same as follows for other government jobs as 5 years in case of SC/ST and ESM and 3 years for Other Backward Classes

According to your mentioned educational qualification, you are eligible to apply for this examination without any doubt so just do not waste your time and start preparation for this CWE PO

CWE PO - III - 2013 may be conducted through online mode but the information that is mentioned above is not genuine/ official until IBPS board announces official recruitment notification for this CWE PO so you should wait for sometime and get notification at www.ibps.in when publishes by board and then make all the information sure about this examination. There may also be some changes in examination pattern but pattern of last year's CWE PO examination is following :

Objective Type Paper will have following subjects :

    Quantitive Aptitude - 50 marks
    Reasoning Ability - 50 marks
    English Language - 25 marks
    Computer Knowledge - 50 marks
    General Awareness - 50 marks

All subjects contains total 250 questions and when you will complete this objective type paper then you have to solve one more paper that will be descriptive type test means no objective answers will be given and that will be based on English Language and Comprehension and carries 25 marks

Passing in each subject of objective paper and descriptive test is mandatory so work more for all subjects and get qualified. If you score around 75% marks then your selection may be sured but everything depends on your study and dedication to the career so use some good books and I have attached complete syllabus and some previous year papers to provide you more knowledge about this examination please download

    All the best
