Does pursuing Electrical Engineering from NIT will hamper my chances of studying Energy Physics?

I am an undergraduate student. I wish to enter the fields of R&D instead of going for a technical line. Nuclear physics, specifically, high energy physics is of greatest interest to me. I understand that studying B.Sc Physics is most advantageous in such occasions but I will not be able to clear NEST this year for getting into NISER nor do I wish to take a drop. At present, I have the option of Electrical engineering in an NIT. If I take it, will it hamper my chances of studying high energy physics?

Friend dont worry this will not at all affect your chances and eligibility of studying higher physics . After finishing you b.e degree in national institute of technology you can pursue your physics or if you wish you can discontinue your b.e studies at anytime and can concentrate on physics . In our country studying a course will not at all affect the eligibility of studying another course . So dont worry and just join in national institue of technology. .
