Min eligibilty criteria to appear for the clerical exams for SBI and its associates banks is:
12th pass with 60% marks or graduation pass
    Min age is 18 years
    max age is 28 years

OBC gets 3 years age relaxation and SC/ST gets 5 years age relaxation

Currently SBI associates banks clerk vacancy forms are being filled. forms can be filled through www.sbi.co.in
Last date to apply is 13th aug 2012

so if you meet the above eligibilty apply for the same

IBPS ( www.ibps.in) conducts common written exams on behalf of 19 public sector banks.
their minimum eligibilty is same except that they want min educational qualifications as graduation

For bank clerk exam, you must have passed +2 and SBI and RBI conducts its own exam but
IBPC conducts a common written exam for 19 centralized banks in which SBI and RBI is not

Currently the eligibilty has changed and you must have passed graduation with atleast 60% marks
and there is relaxation of 5% to SC/ST.

After the common exam, whenever any vacancy is available in any bank, then you need to
apply for the vacancy and need to submit your marks scored common exam as well.
Based on the score, you’ll be shortlisted for the interview or 2nd round corresponding to
    the vacancy.
This job is really good and lots of opportunities keep coming in various banks like:
    - Syndicate Bank
    - UCO BANK

and there are many more banks.
You can easily expect to get good salary of around 20-25 K per month and lots of other facilities like
medical facility , good amount for HRA.

There are not some banking courses which you have to pass to face bank clerk exam. There are coaching classes for different banking posts. You have to join those classes. Before you join the classes you have to chose for which post you want to apply.SSince, you want to give bank clerk exam then better to join classes for clerk. There is course for 4 months. In these 4 months you will be teaching everything.Have to give exam every week.Fees would be around Rs 8000-10000.Same is for Clerk & other posts.Higher the post higher will be the fees.If you had given city name where you are living then could have told you coaching classes.
