MBA is Master of Business Administration. If you want to do MBA inUS, then you have to take the GMAT test.Or else, if you plan do it in India, you can write MAT.To suggest you, CAT is much better than MAT since CAT provides you with admissions in the most prestigious management colleges - Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). IIM Ahmedabad is the best MBA college if you are planning MBA in India. You have to attend CAT exam if you plan to join IIM Ahmedabad or any other IIM.All the best

GMAT and MAT . Graduate Management Aptitude Test and Management Aptitude Test . Both are MBA entrance tests. Difference is that GMAT is meant for admission for MBA in foreign countries while MAT is for doing MBA from India. GMAT is conducted by the GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council ) test centers in USA and the MAT is conducted by the All India Management Association.
Basic qualification for both the program is graduation from a recognized University. It appears from the question that you are more interested in doing GMAT. For qualifying GMAT you must prepare yourself very hard and should obtain guidance from GMAC about various aspects to be kept in mind and procedures to be followed for appearing in the test. The Graduate Management Admission Council provides all assistance and guidance in this regard. There is no specific time schedule for the test. It is a continuous process and conducted in almost all months. You can choose the program, venue, month etc. So log on to the GMAC and proceed according to your interest.
