Re: Degree in Mechanical engineering after Polytechnic diploma?

Good to see that you are interested on the higher education and you want to take admission on the engineering graduation after completing the diploma so you asked that if you are eligible or if you can able to take admission on the graduation course after the diploma course.

So here i like to say you that yes you can take admission on the engineering graduation after the completing the diploma. As you are diploma holder so you have two way to join the engineering graduation the procedure i am giving here.

    First option:

You can join the engineering graduation through lateral entrance exam. This exam is mainly conducted by the state or some university board to take admission on those colleges belongs to that state or the college under the university. Now if you opted for the LEET exam then after qualifying the exam you can take admission on the direct 2nd year of the engineering so you can see that you can save one year through this admission process.

    Second Option:

You can seat for the common entrance exam conducted by the several institute or the state or the central board to take admission on the best colleges in India. Now if you go inn this process then you will not be able to take admission on the direct 2nd year of the engineering so here is actually 1 year loss but here is another benefit that you can take admission on the best engineering college those does not provide the lateral entry scheme like IIT's.

    Education qualification :

Candidate must have to pass the 10th form the recognized university with min 50% marks and candidate those passed the diploma must have 50% or more marks on the diploma.

Diploma holder those are form the auto mobile, mechanical, Civil, are preferable then the other diploma holder for the mechanical engineering course .

Some good college are given bellow:

    1.IIT's
    2.NIT's
    3.Punjab engineering college
    4.BESU
    5.jadavpur university
    6.College of engineering
    7.Delhi technological university
    8.BIT
    9.PSG college of engineeeing
    10.The ICFAI university

    are some good college.

    All the best

yes, Its a direct provision for the Polytechnic student to do the degree course in any colleges.
If you are a polytechnic degree holder then you can directly apply for the degree course in any colleges and as you have done the diploma there you can directly get admission to the the 2nd year.....and you will complete your course there in 3 years......
you can take any branch there but its better for you if do the degree course of the same branch in which you have done the diploma...........

Re: Degree in Mechanical engineering after Polytechnic diploma?

    Dear friend,

Yes you can take admission in engineering college after completing diploma course. As you have completed diploma course in engineering so you are eligible to get admission in B.Tech course in second year directly. You don't need to study first year of engineering course. After completing diploma course you can save your one year of engineering. There are various entrance exam conducted for the admission of candidates in the engineering course after diploma course.

After completing diploma course you can get admission in engineering colleges on the basis of lateral entry scheme. According to lateral entry all those candidates who have successfully completed their diploma course are eligible to get admission in second year of B.Tech course. For lateral entry you have to appear in LEET exam. The full name of LEET is Lateral Entry Engineering Test. This exam is conducted for the candidates who have completed their diploma course in engineering. Through this exam you can get admission in top engineering colleges of India like National Institute of Technology, Delhi College of Engineering, Punjab Engineering College, Anna University, Thapar University etc. Every state college conducts its own LEET exam. It means if you want to get admission in any college of UP then you have to appear in the LEET exam of UP.

One thing you should remember that you should have to work hard in order to get success in this exam as there are only 10% of seats in engineering colleges are reserved for lateral entry in those colleges which take admission on the basis of lateral entry. So seats are limited in these colleges. There is no other engineering entrance exam conducted other than LEET for the candidates who have completed their diploma course. So, you should have to appear in LEET exam.

    Eligibility Criteria:-

1)- You should have completed Diploma course in engineering/ B.Sc course from a recognized college/university.

2)- You should have minimum 50% marks in Diploma course.

3)- Your age should be less than 21 years.

4)- You should not have any pending backlog.
