    Are children of foreign citizens or OCI & PIO eligible fro AIEEE? What is the procedure to apply? Is there any helpline for foreign students?

    I understand that the children of foreign citizens or OCI' PIO'sare eligible to appear for AIEEE exam?I am a US citizen and an OCI and PIO. At present I am studyingat a CBSE school in India.While filling-out the online application form for AIEEE,I get a messages "You are not eligible due to nationality foreign"Does anyone know what is the procedure to apply and whetherthere is any help-line to answer questions of foreign students?Thanks in advance.M.     Hello Dear,
    There is a good news for you M.Kale.As per the latest norms and conditions for the eligibility criteria for A.I.E.E.E -2012 examination a Foreign National/ P.I.O's/ N.R.I's must have passed the qualifying examination that is Senior Secondary or any other Examination equivalent to 12 years of schooling in India with the aggregate of 60% or 6.75 C.G.P.A on a 10 point scale in all the subjects. Indian nationals living abroad must have studied there for minimum five years(including the qualifying examination i.e. 10 and 12 standards) during the last eight years.

    There is a special Scholarship Program for Diaspora Children by the Indian Government for N.R.I's(Non Resident Indians), P.I.O's(Persons of Indian Origin), O.C.I's(Overseas Citizenship of India).

    As per the Scholarship Program for Diaspora Children around 100 students under Scholarship Program for Diaspora Children(S.P.D.C) of which 50 are Non-Resident Indians(N.R.I's) and 50 from Persons of Indian Origin(P.I.O's).Students under this category must have passed their 10+2 or equivalent exam from A.I.U(Association of Indian Universities) approved educational system with prescribed subjects with aggregate of 60%.
    Candidates who are due to appear in the qualifying examinations should submit their testimonials to E.D.C.I.L by 10th June Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs will be judging over the documents and N.R.I students should have family income of U.S $1,500 and not more than that.Income Certificate should be provided along with other required documents.
