Yes you may prepare for SSC Exams without any coaching institute but it would be hard for you means coaching institutes are better than self study because you may learn so many new things in the institute and at home you will not study for a long time but if you are really serious then you must follow these guidelines :

    1. Purchase Books : You must purchase some best books to prepare for SSC exams and you will find out some more solved and unsolved question papers in those books so you have to solve at least 2-3 practice set papers per day then you would be able to command at some topics

    2. General Awareness or Knowledge : You must read some best books to prepare for general knowledge for SSC exams and revise all your studied topics that you could not forget means revision is most necessary for GK

    3. Reasoning Ability : Reasoning and Mathematics depends on the practice means whatever you do or complete in your practice you must make that sure as 100% then it would be easy to qualify

    4. English - Most of the questions comes from grammar so you have to be strong in grammar and to learn grammar you must purchase a special book for competitive exams for english - RS Agrawal

    Best books for SSC

    1. RS Agrawal
    2. Kiran Publication
    3. Upkar Publication
    4. Arihant publication
    5. Unique Publication
