IAS is a very reputed post in India an it is one of the most toughest exam also. IAS exam is conducted every year. There is few seats available each year so you have to prepare very well to crack the exam.

As you asked that you want to know that the you are eligible for the IAS exam as your age in 33 years on the 1st jan this year so i like to tell you the details of the eligibility criteria so you can understand it easily.

    Eligibility criteria :

1.Candidate have to be Indian citizen or nepal or bhutan.
2.Candidate have to pass the graduation form a recognized university with min 50% marks.
3.Age must be between 21 to 30 years on the august 1st of the exam year.
4.5 Year for the sc/st, 3 years for the obc, 3 years who are born between 80 to 89

so you can see that if you are born between 80 to 89 then you will get 3 years age relaxation so then your age must be 33 year as your age is 34 year at the time of the exam and if you are not belongs to sc/st category so you can not be able to apply on the IAS exam.

Hope this will help you to solve your query. For more information you can go through the site UPSC site.

    All the best.
