Re: Can a distance B.A. student eligible for IAS?

The eligibility criteria for applying in the IAS or IPS is
1)minimum qualification-the candidate must have completed graduation in any stream from any recognized university.
    2)age limit-21 to 30 years for general category,21 to 33 years for OBC,21 to 33 years for sc/st.
    3)number of attempts-4 for general category,7-for OBC,unlimited-sc/st
so you are very much eligibile for applying in the IAS,IPS.

The main point of discussion that is your question that as you have completed your B.A from distance mode ,whether you can apply for IAS,IPS or not
the answer is obvious yes,you can.actually the distant mode of education was started by government in order to help those candidates who have to work for their living, and as can not study to get a good life,so government decided to introduce a process where the student can earn and as well study also, but they do not have to come to the school or college every day, they will have fixed number of classes in a week and will have to give exam which is conducted by respective university, the degree that you will get after completing your study from the distant education has equal validity and is equally legal to regular studies,no body can question your degree, your degree is valid for any government or private institution.

so a B.A degree holder is considered as graduate, and in the criteria mentioned above ,is written that a candidate after completing graduation in any stream can apply for IAS,IPS.So you are eligibile for applying according to the criteria.
