Re: Can candidate with (-)1 Myopia vision become Pilot in Air Force, Navy or Army?

In Air force-a candidate must pass a Flight Class I Flying Physical. To become a pilot. That means the candidates vision can be no worse than 20/70 (correctable with glasses to 20/20) in each eye. To enter Navigator Training, the candidate can have vision no worse than 20/200 in each eye (also must be correctable to 20/20).

To become a pilot in the Navy or Marine Corps, an applicant's uncorrected vision can be no worse than 20/40 (correctable to 20/20) in each eye. Once flight training begins, vision can deteriorate to no worse than 20/100 (correctable to 20/20) in each eye. After flight training graduation, if the eyesite deteriorates worse than 20/200 (must be correctable to 20/20), the pilot will require a waiver for carrier operations. If the vision deteriorates past 20/400 (correctable to 20/20), the pilot is restricted to aircraft with dual controls (ie, aircraft with co-pilots).

The Army has very few fixed-wing aircraft. The vast majority of Army pilots are helicopter pilots. Army Aviators must pass a Flight Class I Flying Physical. To enter Army Helicopter Flight Training, as either a commissioned officer or warrant officer, the applicant can have vision no worse than 20/50 (correctable to 20/20) in each eye. After flight training, pilots can remain on flight status as long as their vision does not deteriorate beyond 20/400 (correctable to 20/20).

Sorry to say that you are not applicable for Indian Navy ,Indian Army ,Indian Air Force exam because they want only Normal Eye-Sight.

Even you can not apply to any defense sector jobs.

In time of Medical test they are process eye-sight test.

The require eye-sight is given below-

THE EYESIGHT PARAMETER FOR INDIAN NAVY,ARMY ,AIR FORCE EXAM

Hello......Indian Navy requires you to have perfect eyesight without any aid or any kind of eye disorder if your joining at NDA stage. The reason is that a lot of signals are given to ships in sea and perfect eyesight is needed to recognise them because slight error can cause a lot of problems. But if you don't have perfect eyesight you won't get rejected. You'll be given TR(Temporary rejection). You'll have a time of around 40 days to cure your eyes naturally. If you fail to do it,you'll be put under Indian army where your eyesight is not a problem. But for Indian Army also you must not be color and night blind.Spectacles are allowed
Remember all this is information is about NDA entry only. You please specify the next time about your type of entry.I told you about NDA because it is the most sought after type of entry.
