Good to see that you are looking for the higher study. It is very good step that you have taken as higher study form the IIT or IISC is a very good thing. It not only give you better education facility and increase you knowledge but also increase you r job opportunity also.

As here you asked that how you can prepare for the JAM and which book you should follow to improve yourself and that will be beneficial for your future. So here i am telling you some procedure how you can improve yourself or prepare yourself.

As JAM exam is mainly for the giving admission on the MSc on the iit and iisc. So the exam will be based on the syllabus of the BSc and the question are form the syllabus of the your trade on in the department you want to take admission.

    Education qualification:

For IISc, Bangalore: First class marks for General/OBC category candidates and at least second class or 50% aggregate marks for SC and ST category candidates in the qualifying degree.

For IITs: At least 55% aggregate marks for General/OBC category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks for SC, ST and PD category candidates in the qualifying degree. For candidates with letter grades/CGPA the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the admitting institute.

Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with the minimum educational qualifications as specified by the admitting institute should be submitted by 30 September, 2013.

So you can see that you can seat for the JAM.

To prepare you have to prepare all subjects very carefully and you must study with time management. You must complete the subjects you liked most and then go for the other subjects. But you must cover all the subjects of the BSc course other wise you have to face lots of problem to answer the question. After the complete one subjects you go though the question may come form that subject to practice more and more.

This year application is over and exam date is 10 feb 2013. If you have applied then good other wise you have to wait for the next year.

    All the best

    Hope this will help you.
