Re: Which is better MCA or M.Sc or M.Tech after B.Sc?

dear friend you will not be eligible for m.tech just after bsc because you must have msc to go for m.tech.so there are two option remaining -1) MCA 2) MSc as you are from compuetr science stream so both are good option for you .after mca you have to select your career in software development and testing companies. you will be taught the applicatio of computer science in daily life in MCA. so if you are interested in developing softwares then go for mca just after bsc in computer science. if you are interested in the computer science and want to know more and more about computer science then go for Msc in computer scince.you will be taught every concept in deep instead of application, you have to find application of these concepts.i think you should select msc in computer science,so that you will be able to use the concepts which you have already in bsc. best of luck.

Re: Which is better MCA or M.Sc or M.Tech after B.Sc?

You are not eligible to appear for B.Tech.The minimum qualification with which a candidate can join M.Tech is through a Graduation degree in Engineering. So, out of your options now only M.Sc and MCA are left behind. Between M.Sc and MCA which course has to join decide yourself.MSc.(Computer Science) is good if you want to make your career in hardware and networking, information security, VSLI/Embedded Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Wireless Communication etc. After completion of MSc. you will have to go for additional diploma/certificate course in any of these above mentioned streams depending upon your interest, preference and aptitude for that field. MCA is good if you want to explore career options in web development, software development, database administration, hardware and networking. If you have much interest in continuing your further studies in IT field itself, then better to go for MCA. Hence we would recommend to analyse your interests and aptitude for various domains and your future aspirations and then make a choice between MCA and MSc.(CS).As regarding MCA, if you want to do it through regular mode then you will have to wait for one year. Regular mode is advisable as regular mode courses have more value than distance course. Hope this helps. All the Best!

Look... you are eligible for all the 3 courses !!!!
So..... you can opt for any of them.... there is no such compulsion regarding opting for any particular stream !!!!!

All the streams that you have mentioned are related to the field of your graduation.......
Hence it will be quite easier for you to cope up with the subjects in all the above mentioned streams

Now if you ask about career prospects, then obviously I will say MCA i.e. Master of Computer Application has much more career prospects than all others mentioned here !!!!

*On Doing a M.Sc you will get a teaching job in the schools and colleges ...... which is quite a good job
If you are interested in Teaching profession you may go for it !!!

**M.Tech IS NOT MEANT FOR YOU !!!
M./Tech is a gradation course meant for the B.Tech students that is the engineering graduates ...and you are B.Sc student !!! So you are not eligible for it !!!!

***you can go for MCA !!!! that will be the best option for you!!!!
You have to sit for MCA entrance exam and crack it to get your seat in colleges offering MCA

~~On completion of MCA you will get jobs in the top IT firms like

    • WIPRO
    • HP
    • ASTRA MICROWAVE PRODUCTS LTD
    • KOGEN-X PVT LTD
    • TECH MAHINDRA
    • 21 CENTURY WEB
    • INFOTECH SOLUTIONS
    • ACCENTURE
    • INFOSYS
    • CTS
    • SUN MICRO SYSTEMS
    • SYNGENTA INDIA LTD
    • KREETI TECH
    • SYNTEL
    • Game loft
    • Satyam Computers
    • SilverTouch Technologies Limited

you will get pretty god salary with all other necessary incentives !!!! your working environment will also be good !!!
if you perform well....you will get quick promotions leading to hike in salary!!!!
So you can go for MCA without much hesitation!!!

    • M.Sc-2 years
    • MCA-3 years
MCA is best course. You no need to study anything after MCA.MCA is the professional course after this course you can get good job with more salary.M.Sc is just master course you need to study more in this field.

Re: Which is better MCA or M.Sc or M.Tech after B.Sc?

    Hello Dear,
First of all i want to let you know that if you are specifically looking for a higher degree, then I would suggest you to figure out what you're interested in doing long term. Are you interested in doing hardware or software. Then label out a few different areas you are interested in, i.e. nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, systems engineering, etc. Then look for specific programs in your sub-fields of interest.India is a great country in terms of offering specialized degrees in almost every sub-field of academic (and practical) study.
The above are the normal routes that you might pursue. However, as said above, there are many other non-traditional routes you may pursue, having nothing to do with computer science.

    Several options exist like
    - work in IT (either for an IT company, or as part of the IT support for a company in another industry, i.e. finance)
    - obtain a higher computer science degree (masters/PhD, from either India or abroad)
    - obtain a non-IT, but quantitative position. i.e. for a hedge fund like DE SHAW
    - Attempt to join the IAS by sitting the Civil Services Exams.

My answer might sound hypothetical to you but that's what it is so I am extremely sorry in advance. In my opinion, options are infinite. I know many people who have done MA, MPhil and even PhD in Hindi Literature from JNU after doing BSc. I am showing you one of the extreme cases which you might think stupid. But people do it. It's true it's not because of interest but may be because IAS preparation or free hostel etc. but there are many options.

You should think of what you would like to do and then ask how to do it. I know in India it's almost impossible to think this way but if you do it you will be very happy and successful.

On practical note, from my experience now a days just BSc is very basic degree because you will find thousands of BTechs surrounding you. Therefore you need to have higher degree at least a MS/MSc in Computer Science. If you want a good career you can try MS from good/reputed university. In IITs they don't have MSc in CSE (I mean 2 years program) as far as I remember but you can check in IITs, IIITs, IISc.

If you want to go into the teaching line try M.Sc.
Do MCA if you want to become a software professional and join a S/W company. You can also do MBA.But it is only worth doing MBA in a reputed b-school otherwise its a waste of time and money. But i recommend MBA.If you do it from one of the good institutes then your life is set but prepare yourself to work very hard for MBA is a tough job!
I am in the same situation as you are.

    All the best.
You must be still in the age of late 20s or early 30s so don't worry about jobs etc. right now.
    Go for a higher degree.

I hope this will help you.

    With Regards,

    K.I.N.G.

Its good to see that you are going to complete your B.Sc (CS). Soon after the completion of this course you may not be eligible to appear for B.Tech.

The minimum qualification with which a candidate can join M.Tech is through a Graduation degree in Engineering.

So, out of your options now only MBA and MCA are left behind. Between MBA and MCA which course has to join decide yourself.

If you have much interest in continuing your further studies in IT field itself, then better to go for MCA.

As already your graduation will be from B.Sc (CS), it will be an added advantage for you when you join your MCA.

In today scenario, there is good demand for IT candidates. Many of the top IT companies are recruiting the candidates coming on to the campuses.

If you would like to have a career in the Management field and if you are much interested in joining MBA, then go for it. MBA also have very good job prospects.

These people have plenty of opportunities in variety of sectors. But the candidate should have good communication skills and good subject knowledge in order to survive in this competitive world

    Hey pal,
Since you have completed the B.Sc in CS, so I would suggest you to either go for a M.Tech or a M.Sc. You have MCA also as an option but it's better to go for MSc or M.Tech. You can give the entrance test for MSc and M.Tech and if you get into the merit list you go for it.

    Best wishes..

Master in Computer Application is 3 years Post Graduate degree course in which you will learn both theory and applications of Computer.

MCA is technical field and this course should be done from regular institution for better career prospects.

However you are eligible for MCA and this is best field for in our Country as Information Technology Sector is doing very good and providing large employment to students of related Field but you should do MCA from Regular Institute for better career prospects.

And you should choose Between these courses MCA or M.sc in mathematics by keeping your inclination and capability in mind .

Students do well in the field where their interest and passion lies.

You should choose MCA if you enjoy Computer Application more and if this is Mathematics in which you have more interest than it should be M.Sc in Mathematics .

M.sc in maths also have lot of scope career wise like You can go for

Teaching profession (Teacher or professor )
Computer Industry also need Math Graduates /post graduates
    Research and Development
    Several Govt Examination

But either of course you choose should be done from regular institutions/university for better career scope.

BUT if you have only Distance learning option with you than you should choose M.Sc in maths instead MCA.

well you cannot go for m.tech after bsc,you will have to do msc or mca do do m.tech,so the choice is between mca and m.sc,you must go for mca,mca is mastyer of computer application and in todays world the computer is everything, you will find a computer firm everywhere, but at the same time msc means masters in any science subjects, you must know that it is difficult to find jobs who are related to msc in any subject ,so it is better that you go for mca.

Re: Which is better MCA or M.Sc or M.Tech after B.Sc?

    Friend,

In my opinion MTech will be the best option if you can qualify GATE exam and get admission in any IIT college
    or top NIT colleges.
In IIT and NIT colleges, you'll get very good faculties and good environment of learning and the
best thing will be the tough competition to get the best in life.
In these colleges, renowned companies come for placement and offer very good package of 6-10lac per annum.
Some companies like Intel, Google, Adobe, Microsoft come for placement in IIT colleges.
So you'll have a very good career life ahead.

Next thing is that if you get selected in MTech, you get a monthly stipend of approx 8000 per month and thic course is
of 2 years. On the other hand, MCA is a 3 years course and you dont get any stipend for this course.

Preferencewise, you should give first preference to MTech then to MCA and finally last option should be MSc.
