It is nice to see you that you wan to take admission on the IIT . IIT is the most reputed institute to take admission on the various science subjects for doing the graduation as well as for the engineering course. So if you able to get admission on the IIT it will be great for your career. As here the education quality is very good and they provide 100% placement record. So it will increase your knowledge and it also provide a high salary job.

As here you want to know that you are eligible for the IIT-JEE or not as you have year gap and you have done 12th in the correspondence course. Here i am trying to satisfy you by giving you the information about it.

    Qualification required:

1.Candidate born after the or on the October 1988.
2.For the sc/st it is on or after 1st week of October 1983
3.Candidate passed the 12th or equivalent exam form a recognized university and passed on or before October 2013.
4.Candidate are eligible to seat on the two consecutive year only
5.If any one take admission on the IIT through IIT-JEE they are not be able to sat for the exam.
6.Cut off marks for the General and OBC is 60% and the Sc/St is 55% all through means 12th and 10th.

So if you are full fill the above criteria then you can seat for the IIT-JEE. But from this year IIT-JEE become only JEE and to take admission on the IIT you have to seat for the two JEE exam on is JEE main and another is JEE advanced .If your rank on the JEE main is between 1.5lac then you are only eligible for the seat JEE advanced. JEE advanced is to take admission on the IIT and ISM only.

If you also cleared the JEE advanced it does not means that you will get admission on the IIT. Counseling will be done and it will be done still the seats are available.

So study hard and prepare three subjects very carefully those are Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.

All the best Hope you get it.

    dear friend,

if you want to do the engineering then you have to the hard work for this. you have finished your 10th in 2005, so now you have less opportunities for fighting the IIT exam.
this exam is fought after passing the 12th. you have to take science maths subject and then you have to fight the entrance exam of the IIT.
this exam is so hard. there are many science related question like physics, chemistry, and the maths. also you will get the question of the reasoning and the aptitude. so you have to prepare well.

    so best of luck
