ur eligible this year. as 60 % is enough to take the exam

. if u have not prepared well u may take the exam nest year

IIT JEE should be written only in consecutive years.

Number of JEE Attempts A candidate can attempt JEE maximum two times in consecutive years irrespective of whether or not he/she passed QE. Those who have attempted JEE in 2010 or earlier are NOT ELIGIBLE to appear in IIT-JEE 2012.

Yes you are eligible for the IIT-JEE exam.
As you have mentioned your 12th PCM score , that means you are a 12th passed student. If you have passed 12th last year i.e 2011 ,then this your last chance to appear for the exam. The IIT(Kanpur) council permits only two attempts in IIT-JEE for open category student that to while in 12th and the next year.

    Hi Buddy,

Before we apply for any examination first of all we must check whether we're eligible or not.

    IIT JEE Eligiblity Criteria :

You must have passed your 12Th Standard with minimum 60% Marks in Physics, Chemistry And Mathematics Subjects.
You can attempt IIT JEE only twice, in consecutive years.

Hence, the answer to your question is "YES". IIT-JEE is one of the toughest examinations so prepare well and apply when you ready if not you would waste an opportunity.
    All the best.

hi,since you have scored more than 60%marks,means you are eligible for IIT-JEE,its not the case that those who score more than 90 or 85% can only crack IIT-JEE,its all about confidence in you ,,and the concept you have about the subjects, and execution of it.if you think you have these all things, you can surely crack the exam,,
moreover, its better not to leave for next year, give it a try,,who knows ,you may crack it,,have confidence in you,,dont demoralise yourself,ok,thank you,

    Dear all,
The age limit for exam is 16-21 years of age.
The eligibility criteria for IIT-JEE & AIEEE has been changed from 2013.
    Indian-Institute-of-Technology-IIT.jpeg
According to this new system, two examinations will be held for admission into both IITs and NITs.
First, all the students need to appear for Mains exam.
    From the
mains exam a total of top 1,50,000 were taken.
    For these 1,50,000,
    advance exam is conducted.

On the basis of Rank in advance exam, you will get seat in IITS & NITS.
To get seat in IIT, you need to be in top 20 percentile of your bord and get good rank in Advance exam.

If you are in top 20 percentile of your board, then you can write the exam.
Otherwise, you will not be eligible to join IIT irrespective of your rank in Mains and Advance exams.
I guess you will not be in the top 20 percentile of your board. So it would be wasting your time writing this exam.
Join Engineering in some other colleges.
You can also join IITs for M.Tech through GATE.

    All the best

Re: Am I eligible to write IIT JEE after scoring 60.33% in PCM in 12th?

See you are eligible to give the IIT exam with your marks in 12th class
By deciding not to give the exams this year as you preparations is not upto the mark, you have lost one chance to give the IIT exam.

In IIT you get only two chances to appear.
One in which year you have passed 12th and other chance the next year.
even if you have not given the exam chance is counted.

So now start preparing for the exam and give your best shot in your last chance to give IIT in 2013

Yes you can give the exam in next year also but you have to wast your one year .
The criteria for the exam is below :

-> one should pass the 12th with PCM subjects and got minimum 60% marks for general and obc catagory , 55% for SC/ST catagory from any recognized university .
-> Overall 12th marks will be minimum 60% for general and obc catagory , 55% for SC/ST
    -> age must be between 17-25 .
-> there are only 2 attempts are allowed to any candidate .

So if you want to give the exam next year then take care because there are only two attempts and if you failed in the exam then you wast your attempt as well as your one year .
So be prepared well so that you can clear the exam .

    best of luck

Of course pal. For IIT-JEE the minimum marks required is a 60%. Since you have that so you can give the exam. Also one more thing that you must note is that the exam can be given only twice and that in consecutive years For ex if you give the exam for the first time in 2012 then the other opportunity is only in 2013. If you don't give it then, it's gone.

    Best wishes..

Re: Am I eligible to write IIT JEE after scoring 60.33% in PCM in 12th?

    Dear aspirant,

From next year, JEE Advanced Exam will be commenced in place of IIT-JEE exam.

And, you will have to qualify JEE Mains Exam first to appear for JEE Advanced Exam.

JEE Mains Exam will be nearly similar to AIEEE Exam.

JEE Mains exam for 2013 will be held on 7 April 2013.

And, JEE Advanced Exam for 2013 will be held on 2 June 2013.

As you have scored 60.33% in 10+2, so you can appear for JEE Mains Exam but you cannot appear for JEE Advanced Exam.

Because, Only Top 20 Percentile Candidates of any board are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced Exam.

JEE Advanced Exam is gateway to IITs, ISM Dhanbad and IT-BHU.

You must fill Improvement Form for 10+2 to increase your Percentage, so that you can appear for JEE Advanced Exam.
