Re: Am I eligible for SET/NET after B.E.?

    Eligibilty for the NET/SET exams:
Post Graduation with Minimum 55% marks for the General and the OBC candidates
Minimum 50% marks for the SC/ST candidates.

AGE- There is no cap on upper age limit to apply for the NET/SET exams for the Lectureship posts

But if you want to apply for the JRF, than max age to apply is 28 years
OBC/SC/ST/ Women Candidates gets 5 years age relaxations.

Since you have not completed your Post Graduation , so you are not eligibile to give the NET/SET exams.
So first complete your Post Graduation, than only you can give the NET/SET exams.

Also to teach in the Engineering Colleges, you njeed to have the below qualifications
    BE/BTECH Pass
    AND
    ME/MTECH PASS

    • No you are not eligibile to appear in the National eligibility test (NET) with having just an qualification of B.E degree.
    • In order to be eligibile for it, you must have completed the post graduation degree in any stream with having minimum 55% marks from an recognised university.
    • If you are from the reserved category, then 50% marks in post graduation is the minimum requirement.
    • It does not any age limit for the lectureship in this exam.
    • However for the junior research fellowship (JRF) then the upper age limit is 28 years.

Re: Am I eligible for SET/NET after B.E.?

Those candidates who have secured even 54.99% marks or below ( even 49.99% Marks or below for SC / ST / PH / VH candidates ) in Master’s Degree examination are NOT eligible for this Maharashtra SET Exam Test 2012.

Minimum eligibility criteria is post graduation with min 55% marks from UGC recognised college/ university.
SC/ST require min 50% marks and M.C.M. students are not allowed to appear in the SET Exams.
You must have Master’s Degree from an institution recognized by U.G.C.
You have to appear for SET in the subject of their Post Graduation only.

    Age Limit:
There is no upper age limit to appear for SET.

Re: Am I eligible for SET/NET after B.E.?

    Hi,

No ,You are not eligible for NET / SET as you are not a post graduate.

    NET – National Eligibility Test

    SET – State Eligibility Test.

NET is national level exam for recruitment in lecturership post, while SET is state level exam for the same.

    Eligibility for lecturership –

You should be a postgraduate from a recognised university.

You should have acquired minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Postgraduation.

There is no age limit for this post.

So, since you have done B.E. , you are a graduate and so you are not eligible to apply for NET or SET.

If you want to apply for it, complete your postgraduation and then you can apply for the exam.
