    Am I eligible for SBI Probationary Officer?

    I would like 2 know that i have completed my graduation in Economics(degree) with 48.5% marks and Post-Graduation in Economics(degree) with 62% marks.I want 2 be Probationary Officer(PO) in SBI. But their eligibility criteria is 60% marks in graduation.Am I eligible to give exam?

    hello friend,

    yes , you are eligible to give exam for bank po post but on the basis
    of PG marks based as generally bank requires GRADUATION for
    bank po post as minimum qualification .

    Get prepare for it with most recommended books ..
    Not to worry if you have doubt about Graduation because
    you have good in post graduation and on that basis , you can atleast try..

    There are two stages of the exam

    Eligibilty Criteria for SBI PO exams is graduation pass
    age should be between 21 and 30 years
    OBC gets 3 years age realaxtion and SC/ST gets 5 years age relaxation

    So you can apply for the SBI PO exams.
    SBI will come out with its PO vacancy in next 2 months time.

    Also you can apply for the IBPS (www.ibps.in) PO exams
    the eligibilty is same as above
    IBPS conducts PO exams on behalf of 19 public sector banks

    Yes, you are eligible for the Probationary Officer (PO) bank exam. Yes you are right that the eligibility criteria for the bank exam is minimum 60% marks, but you scored well in your post graduation, so your are eligible.

    it conducts exam for PO as well as for clerk

    PO is the abbreviation of Probatioanry Officer

    it is the officer rank
    it offers a high salary
    hence it is one of the most preferable post in banks




    eligibility for SBI PO
    • you must have done your graduation in any field
    • candidates appear for fianl year are also eligible
    • you must score minimum of 65%
    • your english should be good


    for sc/st minimum % required is relaxed
    for them it is just 55%



    age limit
    • 21 to 30 years for general
    • 21 to 33 years for OBC
    • 21 to 35 years for SC/ST
    • 21 to 35 years for Ex-Servicemen:

    In your graduation basis you are not eligible for this exam But your post graduation mark is enough to attend the SBI PO exam.I mention Eligibility Criteria in below manner.

    Eligibility Criteria For SBI PO Exam:-

    Age Criteria:- The candidate applying for this post should not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 30 years of Age.

    Relaxation in upper age Limits:-
    >>For SC/ST:- 5 Years
    >>For OBC :- 3 years
    >>For VH/OH(General):-10 years
    >>For VH/OH(SC/ST):-15 years
    >>For VH/OH(OBC):- 13 years.

    Nationality Criteria:-

    Dear Aspirant,
    You are eligible to give SBI PO exam ,as you said the eligibility criteria for it is 60% , you are absolutely correct .But this does not mean that you should have 60% in your graduation ,you have scored 62% in your PG so you have fulfilled the required eligibility criteria. Now the only the left is to crack the exam. For that no one can help ,you have to prepare yourself for it by timely planning of your preparation. Solved the R.S.Aggarwal book both both quant and reasoning and for g.k part, read newspaper regularly.

    Hi guest, In order to become State Bank of India Probationary Officer, you need to appear for the exam, which is conducted by Sbi Itself. You need to have completed graduation in any stream from an recognised university but have scored minimum 60 % (general candidates) and certain relaxations to obc, sc/st candidates. Age limit for the general candidates is 21years to 30 years. Three & five years relaxations to obc and sc/st candidates respectively. And your nationality must be indian. Thanx

    educational qualification required for sbi po, or any other po exam is graduation;

    the following is the eligibility criteria for the sbipo:

    as sbi commences ther own exam for the clerk and po purpose

    educational qualification:

    *must possess a graduation from a recognised university.

    *must have 60% aggrregate

    *must be indian national

    *age 21-30 years for general
    obc 3 years relaxation
    sc/st 5 years relaxation.

    * must be fluent in english and local language

    * must have basic computer knowledge.

    mostly banks prefer graduation as basic so you are not eligible for sbi po

    SBI PO Exam Eligibility Criteria:


    1. To give this exam you need to complete your graduation first in any discipline from a recognized university. You need to have minimum 55% of marks in aggregate at graduation level.


    2. The lower age limit for giving this exam is 21 years. The upper age limit for general category candidates is 30 years.


    3. There is age relaxation for the reserved category candidates.
    SC/ST Candidates: 5 Years.
    OBC Candidates: 3 Years.
    PWD Candidates: 10 Years.

    4. Selection procedure basically includes two phases. You need to cross these hurdles to finally get selected. The first hurdle is the written examination which is followed by group discussion and personal interview session.

    5. Written exam comprises of mostly objective and descriptive questions. There will be 200 questions to answer in the objective section. You will get only 2 hours to complete the paper. While the descriptive section contains english language questions of 50 marks and the time limit allotted for this one is one hour.

    6. If you manage to get the pass marks in both the sections-objective and descriptive then you will get to take part in the group discussion and this is followed by the interview session. Depending on the vacancies available maximum they call three people per vacancy available.

    7. You need to get minimum 40% of marks to qualify in the written exam. There is percentage relaxation for the reserved category candidates. It is 35% in case of SC/ST and OBC candidates.

    Well offcourse you are eligible for the S.B.I PO exam.I think some body has provided you a wrong information.The Eligibility criteria for S.B.I PO is not 60% in graduation.

    I am sorry to inform you that you are not eligible for S.B.I Bank P.O exam.
    because you get only 48.5% in graduation you have to score minimum 50% marks.
    If you are in ST/SC category then you are eligible for this.

    Age limit is 21-30 year.

    You have mention that you have got 48% in graduation, with this percentage you can not appear in sbi po exam.

    General candidate who have got 55% in graduation can appear in sbi po exam. Reserve candidate should have 50% marks in graduation.

    Age must be minimum 21 and maximum 30 year. Reserve candidate get relaxation in upper age in following manner- obc 3 year, sc/st 5 year, ex-serviceman 5 year, pd 10 year.


    If you are interested to get job in other banks then you can write IBPS exam because in ibps no any percentage criteria define in graduation.

    IBPS(Institue of Banking Personnel Selection) conduct common written exam for various post for 19 public sector of bank.


    To apply for ibps po candidate should be graduate from recognised university. Age of candidate should be 20 to 30 year. Relaxation for reserve candidate in upper age is same above.

    Eligibility for SBI PO:Educational criteria: Any degree from recognized university with minimum of 60% or any post graduation degree.

    Age Criteria:Minimum: 21 years
    Maximum: 30 years.

    This is applicable for general category.

    There is Upper age relaxation as follows

    3 years for OBC.
    5 years for SC/ST.
    10 years for PWD.

    So, you are eligible to apply for SBI PO Posts.

    A bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 60% marks

    or

    A PG degree in any discipline from a recognized university

    Age should be between 21-30 years and relaxation in age as per government guidelines

    5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

    SBI will announce the PO vacancies around November - December and the no. of vacancies are expected - 2500

    As per the new advertisement published for the post of SBI PO , the criteria is below :

    => one must be graduation in any stream from any recognized university . ( There are no any percentage requirement )

    => Age limit :
    21-30 for general cast
    21-33 for obc
    21-35 for sc/st
    21-35 for ex-serviceman
    21-40 for PWD

    So any Indian citizen who fulfill above criteria are eligible for the exam .

    So as you done your graduation so that you can give the exam .

    exam structure is below :

    => It consists two phases .

    In phase 1 there will be one objective type paper and one descriptive type paper .

    In phase 2 there will be GD and interview .

    So start the preparation for the exam and give it and crack it .
