    Hello friend
    >>The new pattern for iit will have two exams-mains and advanced exam.
    >>A necessary condition to be eligible for iit-jee is that student should be in top 20 percentile of board exam.so to be eligible for advance exam you have to be in top 20 percentile in cbse board.

Re: Am I eligible for IITJEE having 77.2% in 12th or not?

    dear frind,

IIT stands for indian institute of technolgy
it used to conduct its exm till nw
in which eligibility criteria was that

candidates should have passed their 12th from a recgnised university with minimum of 60% in pcm
    age limit
    17 to 25 years

    and
no. of attempts allowed was only 2 times in cnsecutive years

    but now
from 2013 onwards a new exam will be held which will be known as ISEET
it will replace IIT and AIEEE
this exam will take place twice a year

and students will be allowed four attempts

    for this also
candidates needs to be 12th passed from a recognised university
candidates should have pcm as compulsory subjects

exam pattern is a bit different from IIT and AIEEE

it will consists of 2 papers
    1. mains
    2. advanced

    topics for mains exam
    • reasoning
    • critical thinking and
    • english comprehension

    topics for advanced
    science subjects like
    • physics
    • chemistry and
    • maths
duration for both the exams will be 3 hours
both exam wll be conducted on the same day

30% weightage will be given to each exam
and 40% weightage will be given to 12th marks

Dear aspirant you are surely eligible to give IITJEE exam as you have scored above 60% marks in PCM in 10+2.

So you should not worry about eligibility and start preparing for IITJEE as it a very tough exam.

You have only two chance for IITJEE one when you are appearing in 10+2 and one after passing 10+2.

    BEST OF LUCK...

any one who is having the minimum qualification of an 10+2 was eligible for applying for IITJEE entrance examination.
The only thing is that you must have the age limit below the specified margin.
As per the conditions of the IITJEE the candidate should have the minimum age limit of 18 years.
Hope this will be helpful to you to have the required information regarding the qualification for IITJEE

My friend according to new pattern nobody can predict whether you will be eligible for iit or not. There will be two exams mains and advanced .First you have to give mains exam and those who qualify it from them those who are in top 20 percentile of their respective board are eligible to appear in advanced exam.So what will be the minimum percentage nobody knows right now.
    Good Luck

No,you may not be eligible for IIT as the exam rules have changed.Only top 20% will be eligible. If you have scored much better then you might have got a chance. But you cannot. But if you try to give 12 th exam again and score near 80 % you might be eligible.

    Yes, sir you can appear.

Till now it is IIT-JEE exam.
and your marks i.e 77.2 % are above 60% so you need not worry.

In case, it gets replaced by ISEET exam.
this is new proposed patter to get into IITs and might replace AIEEE and IIT JEE.
Even then you will be eligible.
This exam will have reasoning/aptitude questions also and 12 class marks will also be given weightage .
    GOOD LUCK !!

Definitely you are eligible for IITJEE with 77.2% in 12th.
The eligibility of IITJEE is 60% marks average in 12th, with a score of 60% in average in PCM. So since your are clearing these conditions you can definitely give IITJEE exam.
However, IITJEE rule says that a candidate can appear for IITJEE test only twice a year. The year you appear your 12th and the subsequent year.
