    Am I eligible for CLAT being B.Tech student?

    Dear Sir/Madam,My name is Anand Kumar.My date of birth is 25-January-1992.I passed out my senior secondary (12th class) from Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education , Rajasthan with 60.15 % (Maths-Science) , in 2008.I am doing B.Tech this time.I am interested in Law. and I wants to do know 5 years course by qualifying CLAT.Am I eligible for CLAT ?Please give me a helpful answer immediately .In the waiting of your answer.     In order to be eligible for the Common Law Admission Test [CLAT], candidate must complete their +2 level of exam with a minimum of 50% marks [45% marks for reserved candidates]from a recognized Board. Candidates who have appeared in the +2 exam and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear in the test. The maximum age limit to appear for the CLAT is 20 years for the general candidates and 22 years for reserved candidates.

    The test comprises of general english, legal aptitude, general awareness, logical skills, etc. In order to prepare yourself for the test one may enroll to coaching institutes which prepares a candidates for the CLAT. Some of the well known Institutes are :

    Bright Academy
    T.I.M.E.

    A law graduate can practice in a court of law as a Private or Government Lawyer. Beside this one may look to work in a corporate firms as a Legal Analyst or Legal Advisor. Candidate interested in journalism may look to work as a reporter for newspapers and television channels. Teaching in colleges is another options. By clearing exams conducted by Public Service Commissions, a law graduate can become a judge.

    CLAT 2013 exams will be held on 12th MAY 2013
    Forms will be filled from 15th January 2013

    Educational Qualifications 12th Pass with not less than 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC and ST candidates)

    AGE- It should be below 20 years of age as on 1st July 2013

    22 years in case of SC and ST candidates.


    As you can see from the above eligibilty max age to apply for CLAT is 20 years for the Generala nd OBC candidates, So if you belong to general and OBC category, so you CANNOT APPLY for the CLAT exams 2013

    CLAT is an entrance examination in the high courses of law field. For which you should have cleared the intermediate examination with having 50% marks aggregate. If you are from an sc/st or obc or Physical handicapped students then only 45% is required. Your age should be below 20 years and if you from an sc/st and Pwd students then the upper age limit is 22 years. Subjects of it are stated below-
    • English including Comprehension.
    • General Knowledge and Current Affairs
    • Elementary Mathematics.
    • Numerical ability and Legal Aptitude
    • Logical Reasoning

    Your educational qualification is enough to pass the eligibility but what that matters is your age as you will surpass the age limit(Iff you are general category).

    If you are under any reservation category two year relaxation is allowed.

    The Eligibility for the CLAT Exam are :--


    The CLAT(Common Law Admission Test )is a national level entrance exam conducted by fourteen best law institutes of India. Admission to courses such as LL.B and LL.M will be based on the scores obtained in this exam

    Education Qualification :--

    Clat exam need candidates who have done their 12th class with minimum 50% marks can apply.

    SC and ST with minimum 45% can apply.

    Age limit: not more then 20 years for OBC and General.

    For SC/ST: not more than 22 years.

    As OBC or General candidate wit your current age you are not eligible.

    But if you are an SC or ST candidate then you can apply for next CLAT exam.

    Application process for next clat exam will start from 15.01.2013.

    you have not
    mentioned you whether you belong to reservation category or general category. anyways , if you belong to the reservation category except OBC then you are eligible for the CLAT but not eligible if you are of general or OBC cadre.


    hereby I am giving you more details about the CLAT 2013.


    CLAT is the common Law Admission Test which is held to get the inter pass students admitted into law colleges for graduating in LAW.There are many options available to a Law graduate as career choices. Such as:-
    Govt or private lawyer in court of law
    Teaching in law colleges
    working as legal advisor in govt and private Companies
    Appear for Judicial Services examinations etc

    Eligibility for appearing at CLAT:-

    AGE: 17-20years; 2years relaxation for SC/ST
    qualification: Minimum +2 pass from a recognised board of India, with atleast 50% marks in aggregate for general and 45% in aggregatre for SC/ST

    Scheme of Examination:-
    The entrance comprises of the following
    subjects for which the exam is conducted :-

    English including Comprehension.
    General Knowledge and Current Affairs
    Numerical ability and Legal Aptitude
    Elementary Mathematics
    Logical Reasoning


    The CLAT 2013 will be notified in JANUARY 2013 & Exam is in MAY 2013.

    Mr.Ananda kumar according to your statement you did not mention your caste category so please see the ELIGIBILITY given below.

    1.Clat is a entrance exam a 12 th standard student can write this exam to get admission for to do 5(five) years course related to Law.

    2.A candidate belong to Gen.category is require to obtain at least 50% marks in intermediate or in 12th standard(sc/st pwd.45%)exam.

    3.The age eligibility: For Gen.& OBC: 20 years others 22 years.

    So,Mr.Ananda Kumar if you are student of Gen/OBC then you have crossed 20years of age so you are not eligible for CLAT better you do B.Tech attentively.

    No, you are not eligible to give CLAT Exam.

    Below you can check the eligibility conditions for CLAT Exam.

    Eligibility for CLAT 2013:

    Candidate should have obtained a Senior Secondary School/Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Board with not less than 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of SC/ST/OBC and PWD).

    Age of candidate should not be more than 20 years in case of General/OBC candidates (22 years in case of SC/ST and persons with Disability)

    To apply for CLAT candidates must have min 40% marks in class 12th and age should be below 20 years to get admission in undergraduate courses,As you want to apply after B.tech i e after graduation you must have min 55% marks.You will get admission in post graduate courses.In 2013 ,CLAT will be conducted on 30th MAy, and previous years paper will be available from 13th January.Once you qualify the CLAT exam you will get admission in top 14 law universities in India.There will be total 200 objective type questions and one mark for each question i e total marks will be 200.Questions will be from following sections-

    English

    General knowledge

    Legal aptitude

    mathematics

    reasoning.

    You must follow the below Eligibility criteria ..

    You must complete Intermediate / Or its equivalent degree from a Recognized university

    Final year students are also eligible to apply for the examination

    You must have a minimum of 55% in your Academics

    The maximum age is allowed up to 20 years

    There is a Relaxation for the Reserved candidates ..

    I am sorry to say that you are not eligible for C.L.A.T exam after passing B.Tech.

    ELIGIBILITY FOR C.L.A.T EXAM:-
    > Pass 12th with any stream with minimum 45% marks from recognized university.
    For ST/SC candidate minimum 40% marks is require.
    > Age limit for C.L.A.T exam is 17-20 year.
    For ST/SC candidate is 17-22 yea.
    > Only Indian Are eligible for C.L.A.T exam.

    If you have following details then you can eligible for CLAT ;

    For this exam You must complete Intermediate

    Final year students are also eligible to apply for the examination

    You must have a minimum of 55% in your Academics

    And here agerelaxation is there for Reserved candidates.

    So, if you are belongs to reserved category you can eligible for this exam

    Otherwise you are not eligible for this exam

    UNDER GRADUATION PROGRAMME

    Eligibility conditions for CLAT exam:
    If you want to appear in CLAT exam then you should have obtained a senior secondary school/ Intermediate or its equivalent qualification from any recognized college or board.
    You should have secure not less than 50% of aggregate marks (45% in case of Sc/St/Ph/OBC)
    If you have appeared your 12th final exams and waiting for results then also you can apply fro this exam.

    Age Limit:
    If you belong to General category or OBC then your age should not be more than 20 years
    But If you belong to Sc/St/Ph then your age should not be more than 22 years.
    as on 1st July of respective examination year.

    Dear friend, you have mentioned that your Date of Birth is 25th Jan 1992 which means your current age is 21 years,
    If you belong to General category then you cannot apply for this exam, but if you belong to reserved category as mentioned above then you are eligible for this exam this year 2013.

    Hello Friend,

    Yes you are eligible for Common Law admission Test(CLAT). But first you have to satisfy following criteria.

    Qualification Required for CLAT(for Under Graduate Students):

    1. candidate have to pass Class XII board examination or any equivalent exam from any recognized board.

    2. Candidate have to score at least 45% marks in Class XII examination. But you are SC/ST candidate then you need minimum 40% marks in Class XII.

    3. Age of the candidate must not exceed 20 year as on 1st July of the year of appearing in CLAT. 2 year age relaxation is available for SC/ST candidates.

    4. candidates who are appearing in Class XII board Exam can also apply for CLAT provided that pass out certificate is available before counseling of CLAT.
